nice stop - Edit
Heading down the M6 this is a much better option than a service.
Read moreLimited vegan options (3) but I they they can adapt more easily.
Staff offered to change things for the wean and were really nice. Great setting and on a hot summers day I went for the salad bowl. It was pretty good a mixture of beans and veg with some pickles and antipasti.
If it was in Edinburgh I'm not sure how often I would visit. If I lived in Penrith I would probably be here a lot.
Pros: staff, clearly marked vegan options, setting

What a fantastic find - Edit
Wish we'd found this place years ago. An architectural salvage yard and brocante with a bookshop, wineshop and, of course, the Yard Kitchen. Interesting menu, lovely service, fascinating place. All fresh and plenty of vegetarian choice. Some vegan dishes too, but the staff are happy to vegan-ise as well.

Pros: Fascinating place, Interesting dishes, Lovely people

my fave local spot - Edit
I love this place! I go here ALL the time and I am never disappointed. I love that the lunch menu changes weekly so you can never get bored and so much love is put into making the food and running the cafe so it has a great vibe. The decor of the cafe is so cool and there is so much to explore in the rest of the yard area as well (especially the little book shop below).
Read moreThe brunch menu (10-11:30am i think) is pretty much always the same and the vegan haggis is truely delicious as well as other vegan options. The staff are so lovely and are always happy to help a hungry vegan! There is usually at least one vegan cake and the peppermint crunch is to die for.
This place does the best food in Penrith and is particularly special when the sun is shining (sadly a rare occasion) and you can sit on the outdoor terrace!
