Was it vegan? - Edit
Ordered the vegan version of the végétarian roast. Expressly stated I wanted the VE version. Was served with a large Yorkshire pudding. Asked the server was this the vegan version? She went back to the kitchen -said no, took the plate away for it to be changed to the VE version, minutes later plate returned minus the Yorkshire but with nothing extra, no more potato’s just a big space where they’d removed the non vegan thing. Not convinced the gravy was vegan or that the veg hadn’t been cooked in butter.
Read moreOnly VE pudding they had was crumble (no custard) so I had an oat cappuccino, minus the flapjack that came with it as guess what-that wasn’t vegan either.
There’s no separate vegan menu anymore with only a couple of main course options
We won’t be back

They have contacted me today after completing an online feedback form apologising for the above and explaining they usually have a vegan Yorkshire pudding, but had run out yesterday & the kitchen may have been confused, they do have vegan gravy, and will have more vegan options on their winter menu

Dubious food - Edit
Not entirely sure everything was vegan. The gravy that came with the vegan puy lentils pie tasted very ‘beefy’. Menus implies that their preparation method may make vegan food not vegan, so make sure to quiz the staff about ALL items supplied.

Slow service, forgettable main, good pud - Edit
When we got there there was just one copy of the vegan menu, which I had to wait for someone else to be finished with before I could use. Our food was slow to arrive and when mine did the tagliatelle dish was missing the broccoli and asparagus it was meant to come with. To apologise they gave us free desserts - the pecan and treacle tart was lovely but overall I was underwhelmed

Cons: Pricey , Main dish was forgettable
