great setting - Edit
a mill and tearoom offering a small lunch menu with an emphasis on organic food.
on a sunny day this is a fantastic place for lunch, outside seating and lovely countryside.
vegan options were very limited with just the soup as an option. my coconut and lentil soup was really tasted, but I was a bit unhappy
was served with bread and butter.
my little girl had beans on toast which was great, organic but pricey at over a fiver for two slices of bread and some beans.
my other half had the veggie lasagne which she enjoyed, it came with a mixture of salads which were varied and tasty.
overall a bit frustrated at the lack of vegan options, but I think a bit more work when you order, would get you some salads as well. better than a service station, buy a little expensive.
Pros: rural setting, staff
Cons: limited vegan

Wholesome food, quirky setting - Edit
Salkeld Mill is an incredibly quaint little tea room that has vegetarian menu and one or two vegan options (soup or stew special when I went). The food is very rustic and homely. The bread is especially nice. They have nice looking vegetarian cakes but as far as I know only vegan ice cream. They sell many different types of flour from the mill there.
Pros: All vegetarian, Homely rustic food, Pretty setting and location
Cons: Limited vegan options, Vegan options not always labelled, Sometimes busy, slightly chaotic service

Great lunch - Edit
We had lunch at the Mill twice. Great location with chickens who walk free around the premises. Friendly staff and very good food. Besides lunch we also took some cakes home, which were all delicious. They have a little shop with organic foods and spices. We really recommend you have a (lunch) stop here during your holiday!
Pros: excellent food, great cakes
Cons: little vegan options

Lunch Reviews - Edit
A rustic cafe, with a limited choice of menu. However the home made bread, from the home milled flour is the best i have tasted. The soup is fresh (unfortunatly this is only vegan option) and very nice. We have always found the staff very friendly and helpful
Pros: Excellent home made bread, Friendly, helpful staff, interesting mill tour as an aside
Cons: limited choice, not cheap
