I’ve tried most of their sandwiches and they’re packed with so much flavor in every bite. The smoothies are phenomenal and there are so many juice options!! Freshly juiced in front of you! Also, go use their bathroom! Lol you’ll thank me.

Fabulous food; horrible service today. - Edit
The Walrus is one of the best, if not the best, vegan restaurant in Jacksonville. Their food is so tasty, with recipes that are carefully designed to be delicious. I have never had a meal here where the food was anything less than exceptionally good. The food was delicious again today. But the service, which is always excellent, was just dreadful today. I don’t know what the problem was. I have never encountered this employee before, and I don’t know what was wrong. I ordered my food online and paid online, with a 20% tip. 40 minutes later, sitting in my car in front of the restaurant, I called to see if my food was ready. He claimed that he had just received my online order that moment. I told him that it had been received by the restaurant at 1:10, and that I had the verification text to establish that. He claimed that because it was raining, there must’ve been a delay by the online service in sending the order to him. I was surprised and disappointed by his attitude. He was actually quite surly and had no apology or concern whatsoever that he had given such poor service. When I went in, I asked him if I could see the machine that notified him of my order. That made him angry. He showed it to me, and I pointed out to him that according to the machine, he received the order as soon as I placed it, 40 minutes before he says he received it. He pretty much lost his temper and started calling me names, including “Karen,” and being sarcastic. I believe I may have figured out what the problem was, at least part of it. When I went in to get my sandwich and ask him to let me see the order on his machine, he was very engaged in conversation with a young woman. I believe it may have angered him that I questioned him in front of her. I also believe that being so heavily engaged in the conversation with her may be the reason that he did not notice my Internet order. I am hesitant to return to this restaurant. I definitely want to find out his schedule, so I can avoid having to deal with him again. I don’t pay money, even for good food, to be treated badly.

Lovely bar environment that's a Beatles fan paradise! Extremely friendly and gracious owners. Outstanding vegan options made to order with super fast service. Being vegan for over a decade and having run a vegan food business in the past, I couldn't recommend this establishment enough. An absolute must go-to just outside of Jacksonville Florida.

This is my favorite spot in jax. The place is so fun. It’s beetle themed so you see beetle, Beatles and beetle juice decorations. I love it! Theres always events going on — drag shows, movie nights, house and dnb music, art shows, concerts. The alcoholic beverages were delicious and just beautiful to look at. The sandwiches are delicious. They sell Top Drawer Sweets cookies here as well.

Best vegan sandwiches I've had in a while - Edit
The other week, my partner and I went to a memorial service for his stepdad. He surprised me afterwards by taking me here, because it was around the corner from the church. I couldn't decide between the reuben and the club sandwich, so I splurged and got both. It's too expensive (for me) to eat there regularly, but if money wasn't an issue, I totally would go out of my way to eat there at least once a week.
Read moreIf you're vegan, you know restaurants can be hit-or-miss when it comes to quality, variety, portion sizes, and knowledgeable staff. I'm never pessimistic about it, but I'm always skeptical to try a new place, especially if it's expensive. This one impressed me, and that's not an easy or common thing.
The bread was good quality, toasted, and easy to chew, with a good texture. They were full-sized sandwiches, and it didn't feel like they were skimping at all. Like, sometimes places charge a lot for tiny portions that are just okay in terms of flavor. This place doesn't do that.
The "meat" in the reuben was excellent. Melty "cheese" and a good helping of sauerkraut. I also got the club sandwich, which had crispy "bacon" and fresh avocado, along with fresh veggies and good, toasted bread. I saved part of each for the next day, and the club was a bit soggy, but the reuben held up wonderfully. I'm a sucker for cold, next-day leftovers; if I get a pizza that's good fresh but not good cold the next morning, I probably won't get it again. So this place ticks a lot of my boxes. And the club ingredients were still good, apart from the bread, so I just scraped them into a wrap, no problem.
Bottom line: if you're in the area, especially if you've been disappointed by other places, you have to try The Walrus. I'll definitely be coming back anytime I'm in Five Points.

Such a fun place! - Edit
The food, amazing! The staff, amazing! The drinks, amazing! This funky bar was a great spot to take my friends. I’m vegan, one is vegetarian, the other omnivore. Two of us drink, one is sober. All of us enjoyed the food SO much and I was so grateful for a cool bar that had a huge variety of non-alcoholic drinks! They have a lot of fun events lined up on their calendar as well, I can’t wait to go again!

Gahhhhh it’s all so good and we’re only here for a day!! Husband in got different sandwiches in an effort to try more. The caprese was delicious!! Our smooth and juices were both wonderful as well!!
