Great vegan options - Edit
Menu has several vegan options and many more that can be made vegan. We got carried away and had 3 courses - ‘fish’ cakes, meatballs, loaded chips & flatbread, Black Forest chocolate cake - all lovely!

Fantastic pub - Edit
The pub is historic and beautiful, roaring open fire in the winter, cosy little rooms, very nice clean toilets, loads of parking, good service - what is not to like?! The food is, most importantly, also excellent, all veggie but at least half vegan or vegan adaptable. We could only manage starters and mains as the servings were generous. Nice choice, traditional things like fish and chips, and lots of more foreign origin based meals like Thai yellow curry, enchiladas, Lebanese flat bread. Something for everyone. If the little shop attached is open you are in for a treat, plus there are take away homemade meals available to buy

Vegan, with vegetarian options + Shop onsite - Edit
Been here loads of times, food is always excellent, MASSIVE portions and huge selection to cater for vegan and meat eater tastes. Prices are nothingness, we take the whole family, get fed enough to burst and always have to question if the bill is correct bcos it's always so low. Staff are super friendly AND - THERES A TAKE-AWAY SHOP ON-SITE WITH FOOD & KNICKY-KNACKS WITH PROCEEDS GOING TO ANIMAL CHARITIES!!! It is such a great business to support & straight off the main A140 nr.Diss. If you are Norfolk/Suffolk border pls support these guys.

Great Pub Food - Edit
Visited as a group of four and had a lovely three course meal. Many vegan choices on the menu plus some specials as well. Whilst this is one of the better vegan options in the area, it is good pub food rather than fine dining. Great service.

Delicious food, lovely pub - Edit
Great to find a fully vegetarian pub with loads of vegan options. Cosy interior and a lovely garden. Really good selection of food from mac and cheese to curries, to budda bowls and burgers. On the day we visited, they had 4 different soups on the menu! The food was delicious and the staff were really friendly and helpful.

Always great - Edit
A fantastic menu, 100% vegetarian with many vegan options or dishes that can be adapted to be Vegan. Gluten-free and other food intolerances are also well catered for. It's an interesting menu. Always lots of choice. They have really good frozen takeaway meals as well. Food is of a high standard, and portions are generous.

Walnut tree, walnut me. - Edit
We had a great 3 course meal here. The starter, main and desert was all superb. The fine attention to detail to all the courses shows in the presentation and flavour. It’s the best place for a vegan roast. If you need a break between courses there is a nice footpath, by the pub, where there are horses and a chance for digestion to take place. I would recommend that as you might explode with happiness on the way out.

Delicious meal with lots of options! - Edit
I'd heard a lot about this place and so was very pleased to finally eat there and wasnt disappointed! There were lots of options and a wide variety of choices which was great for our range of friends. One of my friend's dishes could have had slightly more cooking on the pastry but that was it so very pleased and would visit again!

Walnut tree vegan options - Edit
Upon arrival at our booking time, we were shown to our reserved seats. Our drinks arrived shortly after ordering our sharing platter. The main course followed soon afterwards. We did not have to wait long for our mains. Highly recommend this venue.

Clearly a long established business that knows exactly what it is doing. Menu was 80 % vegan and I wanted to eat all of it. Fortunately they do frozen ready meals so you can take away their fabulous cooking, and I took away all of them.

Lovely food lots of options - Edit
Such a friendly pub the staff were so helpful and really seem to enjoy working there. There were so many vegan options on the menu I was worried the quality might be compromised but it was delicious. The crispy tofu, jackfruit bao buns and mushroom wellington were particularly delicious. Great balance of fresh vegetables. Portion sizes were huge - arrive hungry!!

Vegan heaven - Edit
An accidental find on the back from Norfolk to Essex but now I make a point of going whenever I can. Gorgeous food in a beautiful building with a very pretty garden. I had the Buddha bowl and it was amazing, so fresh with homemade tortilla chips and wonderful humous. My friend had soup with the best french bread she's tasted outside of France. The shop is fantastic too, vegan cheese and sun-dried tomato scones are the best I've tasted, delicious home-made ready meals including vegan pizzas ard an amazing butternut squash salad. Also quirky cards and gifts and lots of lovely vegan treats. Just such a lovely place to break the journey from Norfolk to Essex and have a wonderful meal with friendly and helpful staff.

The only veggie/vegan pub for miles! - Edit
Had a very welcoming experience with The Walnut Tree a few days back. Three of us tried a diverse array of menu options and thoroughly enjoyed all of them. Staff were lovely, as was the atmosphere of the place.

A must visit for any local vegans/veggies! - Edit
This cosy pub went above and beyond to provide a lovely dining experience. Friendly and knowledgeable staff. Loads of veggie/vegan options as standard, then the ability to adapt most of the veggie options to be be vegan. Traditional pub style food with soups, fishcakes, a wellington and burgers on the menu. Expanded with Asian cuisine options like Chinese pancakes, curries and Bao buns; and everything in between. When we got the bill at the end we were surprised at how cheap it came out also! Wish we could give them six stars.

Went here for my partners birthday. We are both vegan but his parents aren’t. So many options and most can be modified to make it vegan. Parents had a vegan curry and vegan wellington and they both really enjoyed. Definitely something which can be enjoyed by all!

Lovely evening. - Edit
We are in Suffolk for the weekend and my wife had booked a table for the Friday evening. We were greeted by friendly staff and sat at a lovely table ,the menu was full of choice and virtually everything could be made vegan on request. I had the lasagne and my wife had the mushroom Wellington, both were absolutely gorgeous, we then followed it up with the toffee apple crumble and the brownie, which finished us off. A really enjoyable night made even better by the smiling attentive staff.
