The Veggie Chippy
The UK's first 100% vegetarian fish'and chip shop. Fast food takeaway with vegetarian (mostly soy-based) versions of classic chip shop dishes: battered fish, pies, pasties, battered sausage, chips, curry sauce and mushy peas. Also serves Indian meals (with vegan naan), burgers, pizzas (vegan cheese available), and various side dishes. Friendly and enthusiastic staff who are passionate about vegetarian food. Most menu options are vegan - no eggs used but some items contain dairy (e.g. paneer). Seating available but it is primarily a takeaway. Open Mon-Thu 10:30am-11:00pm, Fri 10:30am-12:00am, Sat 12:00am-12:00am, Sat-Sun 4:00pm-11:00pm.

Wonderful! - Edit
Absolutely love this little gem. It has exactly what you need from a chippy. Affordable, great food and really helpful and friendly staff. Probably a good thing I was visiting from out of town or I would have gone through the whole menu.
Will definitely be making a return visit when I'm back this way.
Pros: Proper chip shop food without the animals., Affordable, Lovely staff

Unique - great if you like mock meat - Edit
To the best of my knowledge, this is the first vegetarian ‘fish and chip’ shop in the country, run by friendly locals. Serves vegetarian versions of the kinds of dishes you’d expect to find in any English chippy. The chips are very good, but in my opinion the main attractions are the pasties, masala ‘fish’ and ‘chicken’ drumsticks (made from soy). Most of the dishes are vegan.
Don’t expect a fancy restaurant – this is a fast-food takeaway in a dingy part of town (Hockley area) specialising in deep-fried comfort food. But if you like mock-meat, this is a fun (and unique) place to visit for greasy treats. The food is cheap – for example, pies and pasties cost between £2 and £3 each.
Pros: Very cheap, Friendly staff, Huge menu containing all chip shop classics
Cons: Not great for a sit-down meal
