Spanish service has its own pace and the La Galician food market was no exception there was lots of time for conversation with my husband 🙄.

You have one big menu for all the food stalls with the waiting staff working between all of them. You can use a menu book or use the QR code for the online menu. Going back tomorrow for lunch before flying home. You

In the Mercado La Galiciana. It's confusing, because you don't order from the stand itself but rather from the waiters. The vegetarian menu is listed with the others, and there it's also confusing because allergens like egg are listed in the vegan options. Also the waiters are not always informed. After asking, I confirmed that the bao are vegan (may contain traces of allergens). The croquetas were OK.

Great food! Significantly overpriced - Edit
Ordered lunch at La Galicia, where The Veggie Carmen is, and, based on the price we thought we would get more food. My estimate is it’s about 75% to 100% more expensive than other places. The food itself was excellent, just not enough of it.

Great for mixed groups with non vegans - Edit
The market is super cool and The Veggie Carmen has some delicious vegan dishes, including very authentic vegan croquetas, a delicious hummus and a very big portion of noodles with mushrooms. We loved everything we tried and would definitely recommend it.

Se che propoñen ir xantar ao mercado La Galiciana, en Compostela, tes esta boa opción. Moitas das opcións son veganas, incluso a hamburguesa de proteína de guisante leva o queixo vegano. Tamén ten ensalada de quinoa e mango e wok de cogumelos. Está ben para ir cun grupo variado ao mercado e poder ter tí tamén opcións. #Veganuary

La comida de este puesto no estaba mal. Las croquetas de pisto me encantaron, 10/10, la crema estaba muy buena y las empanadillas no estaban mal. Me las trajeron y me dijeron que estaban frías y si las quería calientes. OBVIAMENTE dije que si y me las volvieron a traer al de un rato ligeramente templadas…

Vegan Food Court at La Galiciana - Edit
The veggie Carmen is located in the La Galiciana Market. You can scan the menu with a qr code. Don't be confused, there are several menus from other food stalls as well. They have a great variety of vegan food. We had the vegan Burger, Poke Bowl and Zoodles with soy meat. It was delicious! The food comes with potato chips and sourdough bread. Prices are around 10 to 15 euros per dish. Would definitely recommend!

Llevo esperando diez minutos mientras veo una de las cuatro mesas del único local Vegetariano de este mercado gastronómico okupada (con k, pero de los que ocupan casas con dueños, no de los okupas de verdad) por una pareja que está comiendo otra cosa: pulpo, sin ir más lejos.

Otro cliente ha logrado ser atendido. De momento, esperando su comida, lleva una copa de vino y ahora va por una cerveza. Si tarda mucho más, va a acabar saliendo de aquí a cuatro patas.

Cons: Por qué hay gente comiendo pulpo? Es vegetariano!, El servicio parece bastante lento. No tengo prisa.

Located in market with interesting concept - Edit
I was a bit confused at first as to how ordering worked. There are servers and you can order from all restaurants and bars as opposed to just one. You can also sit wherever and don't have to be in the area beside the restaurant you are eating from. There's plenty of vegan options on the menu and some items were labelled as vegetarian but upon enquiring turned out they were actually vegan friendly. Food is all freshly prepared here and it's an open kitchen so if sitting nearby you can see your meal being prepared. Drinks come from the general bar so there's no indication if any wines are vegan friendly etc. Food is tasty and fresh and quite filling, as we thought we didn't order enough when in fact we struggled to finish it.

Las otras veces que habíamos ido a Santiago no lo habíamos probado y esta vez nos ha sorprendido. Tiene bastantes opciones veganas, solo probamos el humus, que no estaba mal, la ración estaba bien y venían acompañados de verduras y (bastantes) nachos; y también los baos que tienen en la carta, que estaban riquísimos. El ambiente está muy bien y la localización es perfecta. Sin duda, para repetir.

Según nos contaron las camareras que servían a las mesas, el local abre a las 19:30 para preparar la cocina y la cocina es a partir de las 20:00. La cocinera llegó después de las 20:00, por lo que estuvimos esperando alrededor de 45 minutos sin saber muy bien cómo iba aquello. Cuando conseguimos comer, la comida es insignificante para lo que cobran. Se agradecen que tengan opciones veganas, pero que no por cantidades ridículas y poner salchichas veganas del Mercadona cobren lo que cobran.
