Excellent taste, flavor, and value - Edit
The Vegan Place pleasantly surprised us with uncommonly good quality plant-based versions of Malaysian staples. The rendang nasi lemak is one of the better vegan specimens of that dish we’ve had, and the Lei Cha (green tea rice) is excellent, too, as are the dumplings. A few dishes were a bit in the dry side, like the mushroom satay and the Pandan “chicken” (mushroom-based), but the flavor is still good and the dryness can be balanced by other dishes.
Read moreHealth-wise, we appreciated that the “meat” substitutes are not processed junk but rather actual plants and mushrooms, and that most of the dishes we tried were not oily. The juices are fresh and refreshing.
Service is helpful and prices are lower than other places with inferior quality, making this one of the best values around.
Recommended. Enjoy!

The Vegan Place. Kuala Lumpur - Edit
Nice food, drinks and setting. Nice salads. I see they are advertising for more waiting staff; great when they get it as they at time of my visits they were understaffed.

Perfect Vegan Nasi Lemak - Edit
Came here on the recommendation of a friend and was not disappointed! The Nasi Lemak was a particular highlight - but the menu has plenty of great options.

Try this place - Edit
Awesome traditional Malaysian dishes as well as some fun vegan takes on Western dishes. The traditional dishes are yummy and good on the spice/heat. The Caesar salad was amazing with a homemade cashew dressing.

Delicious! - Edit
Super impressed with the plant-based cuisine here, both local and international flavours! Wide use of monkey head (lion’s mane) mushrooms which are so much more nutritious and flavourful than many ‘mock’ meats.

Cute little vegan place - Edit
The Vegan Place has mostly Malaysian dishes, so it’s great to be able to try a vegan version of some of the most popular malay dishes. They also do some great breakfast options. Just a shame they’re not open for dinner!
Read moreEdit: they are now open for dinner!
They have frequently changed their opening times so I’d suggest following their instagram for the latest!

Nice place! - Edit
I love how this place is so obviously vegan. Small menu but diverse good options and some interesting drinks too. Food was tasty, served fast. Staff were very helpful and happy to explain the different options. Nice looking place and clean and comfortable - nice spot to hang out.

No subtleties, but satisfying tastes - Edit
The menu is quite limited, but everything is vegan, so it's still quite good.
Read moreWe ordered the mushroom kicap and another Malay dish. It was tasty, but quite oily and salty. We both grew tired of the dish before reaching the end.
We tried two dessert, a cookie and a cake. Both were quite nice - neither too sweet, not not enough.
One piece of information that is not clear from the Facebook page: the kitchen is closed between 3PM and 6PM.
update: I visited again and tried their Nasi Lemak. It was very nice. I tried a green cake too, and it was good. So I'll up my review to 4 stars. I'll visit again to confirm this^^

Vegan Raya - Edit
Great selection of vegan rendang and traditional vegan based dishes (masak lemak, masak kicap). Even the ketupat palas is tasty and just right amount of soft. My goto place either dine in or order out when I crave some well cooked Monkey Head Mushroom dishes.

Great Vegan Cafe - Edit
The food is great, the environment is great, the staff is great!
Read moreThe nasi lemak Rendang as the top seller is a MUST to order! Even my non veg dad loves it!
My favorite is the muffin as it’s so close to the McDonald’s McMuffin I was used to addicted to!
The big breakfast was the least favorite, maybe it’s way too healthy? The sweet potato leaves were bland as the staff told me that they just blanched without adding any seasoning.
Well, overall I’m so delighted to see such a great vegan place in KL!
Definitely will make my trip back again!
Pros: Great food, Great environment , Great staff

A place for vegans - Edit
Bright and open interior. Has a small menu, but everything is well prepared and delicious. Most dishes are popular Malay style such as the nasi lemak and mushroom kicap. Although they do have Swedish meatballs which are really good as well. There's also have a range of coffee and tea beverages.
Read morePrices for the mains range around rm19-rm25. Really great spot if you want a nice Malaysian entree that you normally can't find a vegan version.
