Founded in 1986 in the Triangle (Raleigh-Durham-Chapel Hill) area to promote the nutritional, ethical, environmental, and other aspects of vegetarianism. Hosts events including potlucks and a vegetarian Thanksgiving.

Great organization! - Edit
The TVS is a great resource to have in the Triangle. They put on the amazing Vegan Thanksgiving dinner each year, which brings hundreds of people to enjoy a delicious vegan meal. Be sure to get your tickets early, they sell out fast!
