Chillaxing at the Tram

We had an amazing and restful stay in the Tram @ Shambala. Such a wonderful setting and the tram has been beautifully renovated by wonderful hosts Freyja and Allan. The animals in the sanctuary are fun and playful and a delight to spend time with. I recommend staying here for some chillaxing time if you love animals, vegan food, walks and breathtaking views.

Pros: Beautifully renovated tram, Amazing vistas , Delightful animals

The Tramcar at Shamabla Sanctuary is paradise

This is a fantastic place to stay, and couldn't recommend it more especially for those who love peace and quiet and the company of many beautiful animals! The Tramcar is very well built - it is a fancy tiny house with great views, a comfy living room area, a kitchen with everything you need, and a clean and functional eco compost loo. Me and my partner stayed there for a few nights before and after doing the Pouākai Circuit in Egmont National Park and plan to visit again - the park itself is stunning. A big thank you to the Shambala team

Relaxing Hideaway

The Tram is a great place to stay, its quirky features (like the glass wall in the shower) make it quite a memorable place. The animal inhabitants all seem very happy with the domestic arrangements, even the pats & scratches from visitors. The native bush next door is full of birds so sitting on the deck at sunset can be a beautiful concert.

Pros: Hosts are lovely, Animals are quite chatty, Clean & comfortable

Cons: Narrow country road to get there, drive with care
