Serves meat, vegan options available. Pub with vegan choices clearly marked on menu, including falafel, curry, veggie burger, and a chocolate coconut tart. Open Mon-Sun 12:00-23:00.
Lovely for a waterside drink but not the place for a vegan to eat. - Edit
I was told that the veg Penang curry wasn’t vegan - although he didn’t seem 100% sure but they didn’t have any anyway so it didn’t matter at the time. Aside from just chips, the only other vegan option really is the vegetarian burger that, according to the menu, can me made vegan on request but doesn’t state how. The chap didn’t say how either. I probably should have asked but just presumed it meant swapping out the brioche bun for a regular bread bun. I was incorrect. They just served it with no bun and didn’t charge any less. So for £15.50 I received a (frozen?) flat veg patty with a dollop of hummus, a lettuce leaf and a slice of tomato with a small container of chips. Really disappointing and terrible value for money. Safe to say that I won’t consider the pub for a meal again any time soon. Surprising that such a popular place in a great location doesn’t have more vegan options. At the very least they need to state on the menu that vegan burger means without the bun and charge a couple of quid less for it.
