Best in Nuremberg and probably far beyond - Edit
I love this restaurant. It is relaxed and low key yet delivers a special restaurant experience. You have a sense that the staff very much care about you. Some lovely and interesting choices. Easily found just behind the railway station. Take your non vegan friend and show then fine cuisine. I'm making a special trip to Nuremberg next month just to visit this place.

very tasty!! - Edit
I was there with 3 friends for brunch and it was really good. The owner and the waitress were really kind and made us feel comfortable. The brunch was 14,50€ but it was worth it. Also they have a weekly changing menu which sounded so creative! I hope I can go there again someday :)

Tasty Leafs is really tasty - Edit
The Tasty is my favourite vegan Restaurant in Nuremberg. Always delicious and lovely arranged food. They ask you if everything is ok, but with this delicious food no need for.
Read moreThe brunch on Sunday is something that can convince omins of any age. It's a real show off how tasty and creative vegan food can be.For brunch they prepare two to three hot dishes, one soup, several salads, they have cheese and some kind of tofuslices (for those who miss that for breakefast), fruitsalad, chocolatecreme, alsan, bread, something sweet (changing, sometimes wafels, sometimes cake, sometimes cake and panacotta etc....) and more for only 14,50€ and all you can eat! Trust me, after having brunch at the Tasty Leaf, you won't need anything to eat until the next day!
The most lovely staff I ever met is also working there. They might not have a menue in english, but they come to your place and explain you everything.
They always offer soyfree and gluten free dishes, so if you have troubles with soy or gluten, you can still enjoy a meal and dessert. Sometimes dishes are soy- and glutenfree. If you give them a call before going there (a few days before you want to go), they can prepare something that fits your needs.
Don't forget to make a reservation, as they are fully booked out most of the time.
Pros: Excellent food for a really fair price, friendly staff, very nice vibe

The perfect vegan restaurant - Edit
Clean, a nice vibe and very friendly staff. And then the food! Freshly made, beautifully arranged, creative, very tasty, especially the sauces. They had gluten free mains and desserts as well. The menu seems to change weekly, so I'd definitely return and try something new.

By far not as good as expected - Edit
I was very happy to hear about this vegan restaurant in Nuremberg after two other vegan places had closed down. The first impressions were very positive - the place has a nice vibe and very friendly owners. Unfortunately, the food was not at all as good as I expected. I was rather disappointed both times I went there (once for dinner, once for the Sunday brunch). For example, the rice was overcooked, the tomato sauce tasted like ketchup, the desert hat a metallic after taste, the hot chocolate was lukewarm, and I also found the brunch a little uninspiring.

Amazing! - Edit
The Tasty Leaf is amazing--plain and simple. The menu is quite small, but they seem to focus on doing a few things very well.
Read moreI had the caprese appetizer (that's right, vegan caprese!) and a grilled tempeh salad. The portions were very big, made from fresh ingredients, and had great flavors.
I think the guy I spoke to was the owner, and he told me about going to the market that morning to get raspberries to make the dressing for the salad. That's fresh!
The prices aren't bad, considering that this is a sit-down restaurant and not fast food. I recommend going to the Tasty Leaf, if you're in Nurnberg.
Also - talk to the owner about old punk rock bands. He has some great stories!
Pros: All vegan, Delicious, Big portions

Delicious food, great value, fresh decor - Edit
The Tasty Leaf does a fantastic "business lunch" offer with 3 courses for under 10 euro. The menu changes but the day we were there the starter was creamy parsnip soup, followed by seitan frankfurters with saurkraut and bread, and banana cream for dessert. All of it was absolutely delicious, particularly the soup.
Read moreLovely restaurant with a very clean, fresh feel to it. And also seating outside on the (quiet) street. The owner was really nice and chatty.
This place was a real find, especially as it is extremely difficult to find vegan food in the mainstream bars and restaurants in Nuremberg - we were so hungry we nearly devoured the crockery as well. I think it gets busy at certain times so if in doubt book so you don't miss out!
Pros: Great value, Friendly atmosphere

World-class vegan cuisine finally in Nürnberg! - Edit
What can you say about a restaurant where not only is the food absolutely delicious, but perfectly prepared too, and all that in beautiful and comfortable surroundings served by an *extremely* friendly staff? Not much more except: go there! They've apparently spared no effort in delivering a divine dining experience.
Read moreWe had Sunday brunch there (reserve!) which consisted of a buffet with a delicious soup, 2 warm dishes, 4 salads, plenty of breakfast items and two desserts (carrot cake made from spelt flour, and a gluten-free panna cotta). Gluten-free items were clearly marked. Not a single thing wasn't superb.
We arrived for our 1PM reservation, but had to wait a few minutes because the people from 10AM were still chilling there. This minor inconvenience was quickly made up for by a delicious celery-cream soup. A slight disappointment was that the absolutely delicious potato-broccoli-cream casserole was almost gone, although it was quickly replaced by a cabbage and potato-dumpling dish which unfortunately wasn't quite as good. The other warm dish was a not-too-spicy chili, sadly paired with white basmati rice. Here, brown rice would have been much better. Nonetheless, the rice couldn't have been more perfectly prepared. All dishes remained warm the entire time and everything was quickly refilled as needed.
The staff couldn't have been friendlier and the owner was very knowledgeable about the vegan scene and events.
All in all, a marvelous and satisfying experience which I am eager to repeat. A fantastic enrichment to Nürnberg's dining scene. Although there are and have been other vegan options in Nürnberg, none have reached this level. Good work!

Fantastic new vegan restaurant (December 2014) - Edit
The night before my day trip to Nuremberg I decided to check out HAPPY COW one last time. I'm glad I did because there was a new vegan listing for TASTY LEAF. I went for lunch on a Tuesday just six days after they opened. It was a fantastic experience.
Read moreWe were served by the owner (Mike) who is super-friendly and a great enthusiastic supporter of veganism. We had a reasonably priced and very delicious three-course prix-fixe "business lunch" special with salad, spicy "cowboy" chill and bread with a chocolate mousse for dessert. Mike even joked that he would rename the spicy chili "Calgary Flame" chili after a Canadian hockey team (since we are from Canada . . .)
The service was incredibly friendly, warm and engaging. The food was great and the atmosphere comfortable . . . it's amazing they were able to do all this in the first week of business. I can only imagine that things will just get better and better.
I highly recommend it if you're looking for vegan food in Nuremberg (or even if you are a vegetarian or omnivore who is just open to good vegan food . . .). It's just a short walk from the main train station (Hauptbahnhof).
Pros: super friendly service (also in English), great food, comfortable atmosphere

Super delicious food in a wonderful ambiance - Edit
The food at The Tasty Leaf is very tasty indeed! They offer a varying menu of creative, vegan international cuisines. I had the business lunch today and I liked it a lot. It's a three-course menu consisting of a starter, a main course and a sweet dessert. I had a zucchini soup, soy ragout in white-wine sauce and a chocolate muffin. Apart from that, there was a selection of home-made cakes that looked simple scrumptious, I have to come back to taste them! :-) The variety of drinks is stunning, coffee and other warm drinks are available with different types of plant-based milk such as oat milk, rice milk and soy milk. I enjoyed a latte macchiato with rice milk and a fruit juice. Most juices are fair-trade and all wine and beer is organic. Also, most of the ingredients are from local, organic sources. There are even dishes for people who are allergic to soy or gluten.
Read moreThe atmosphere at this place is great, the interior design is elegant and cozy at the same time. I especially enjoyed the artwork exhibition by a local vegan artist, his capturing portraits of animals are wonderful to look at! In the summer, you can sit outside and enjoy the sun.
The owners are very friendly and cordial and go out of their way to make their guests feel truly at home. The service was quick and efficient even though there were many guests. Prices are affordable, everything there is really worth it's price!
This place is easy to find cause it's very close to the main station in Nuremberg. I went there by public transport but you can also come by car or simply walk there.
I will definitely be back at The Tasty Leaf and I really recommend this place to everyone who wants to savor and enjoy real quality food!
Pros: Very delicious food, Wonderful cozy atmosphere, Super friendly and cordial owners
