Vegan pizza

There are limited vegan options at the Taphouse. I had the garden veggie pizza, and it was admittedly the most topings-loaded pizza I've ever eaten. There was plenty of food for 2 people.
They do have a beyond burger, but it is marked as vegetarian (likely because of the sauce and bun as mentioned by other reviewers).
I'm not rushing to return, but it's nice to know the option is there.

So so

Non vegan bun on the Impossible burger… ☹️

Updated from previous review on 2022-07-26

Pros: quantity (1 meal easily feeds 2), they replaced the bun for iceberg lettuce , very rich vegan pizza

Cons: impossible burger not vegan because of the bun, the bun is covered in eggwhite to make it shine, no vegan cheese for the pizza

Weekday Dinner

The waitstaff was attentive and did a decent job meeting our needs. We kept it simple and had a buffalo cauliflower app and Tap House Garden pizza entree. The cauliflower (no bleu cheese for us) was just hot enough and cooked perfectly. The pizza crust was really great, with ample toppings scattered equally throughout.

Pros: A couple vegan options , Indoor and outdoor seating

Cons: Hour-long wait

Great Impossible Burger

This is the 2nd time we have gotten dinner here (to go). The impossible burger (we ordered it without mayo or cheese, and added our own) is super yummy. So glad they offer a vegan option.

Pros: Impossible burger

Good vegan pizza

I ordered the veggie pizza, no cheese, plus Impossible meat for takeout. Because I didn’t eat in the restaurant, I can’t speak to the atmosphere or many of the wait staff. It was a good, straightforward pizza. I wish they would have seasoned the “meat”. It was a nice surprise to have Impossible meat at the Oregon Coast, as most places at the beach aren’t too vegan-friendly.

Pros: Friendly staff and quick service , Average price for medium takeout pizza , Yummy and filling

Cons: Limited vegan options

Slow service, music too loud, unknowledgeable staff

from what we could tell the staff did not know much about the food they served, the chef had no idea how much food to order in order to for fill the weekend special for more than a few hours, appetizers should be served before a meal and should not be served cold and half frozen. this was our second visit to the taphouse and both were extremely disappointing. One was a lunch meal and the other was an evening meal. Half of our party left after 90 minutes because they were finally notified that the “weekend special” they ordered on a (Saturday evening) they were out of the grilled vegetables. I would not call his place vegan or vegetarian or anything friendly. Actually, I would call it kid friendly because they allow children to run around the restaurant screaming and playing while you’re trying to enjoy each other’s company over the extremely loud music. The waiter said the chef was to blame for not bothering to tell us they were out of grilled vegetables until 40 minutes after we had ordered them as part of our weekend dinner special. Waiting more than 90 minutes to re-order your meal when you are then nearing the 10 o’clock hour, after waiting 45 minutes to get our order taken to begin with is outrages! On our previous visit my adult son enjoyed the flavor of the protein noodle soup but found the noodles to be very odd textured and way too chewy to eat. The best thing I can say about this restaurant is the wait staff refilled her water glass at least four times in the 90 minutes before I canceled what they did have left of the dinner special and I walked out of the restaurant to eat elsewhere. they need to turn down the music, educate their staff, get a chef who can properly order supplies and keep them stocked, and learn how to provide proper customer service when a customer from the local area has been extremely disappointed, twice! there were plenty of employees running around that restaurant, several of them just standing around chatting laughing because they obviously had time on their hands. if you’re going to have a “child friendly“ bar and dinner restaurant then you should place the children’s play area far from the other customers and absolutely NOT allow children to run around the restaurant screaming to disturb your other customers, I don’t care if it’s day or night. I very much doubt I will ever return here, because they simply do not know how to treat customers. We eat out 5 to 7 days a week and after 2 visit this restaurant is off our list!

Pros: Good location , Fast water refills, New & Interesting menu items

Cons: Lousy, slow service by unknowledgeable staff, LOUD music ruins dinner atmosphere , Cold, frozen appetizers not served prior to meal

Sad, not family-friendly at all

What a misadventure. It seemed like it would be alright for my child to go with us, there were minors inside. However, lunch was served with with a whopping dose of antisemitism.
Yes, the pizza can be made without dairy, and maybe that's all that matters to you. But the adjacent table had an employee eating who used the balcony as a pulpit to intimidate and spout fascist propaganda, albeit under the guise of opposing it, while shouting profanities with several tables of kids nearby.
I returned the next day to let the owner know about it and after getting the email, and a very cursory look online shows the owner would only welcome such behavior from quotes from his employees online. I know in the polarized climate this type of review would enable some but it must be told that this was a terrible visit, not worth the bread and veggies we overspent on like vegan tourists tend to do.

Cons: subjected to racists profanity, systemic

Family Friendly, Mediocre Food

Food was disappointing but vegetarian and vegan options were clearly marked and wait staff was friendly and attentive. I think there are better options but the convenient location earned it 3 stara

Not amazing

The curry was okay, but I’ve definitely had better. It just tasted like a creamy sauce over vegetables, not much spice like curry. Plenty of veggies to keep you full.

Pros: Good service and atmosphere

Cons: Not great vegan options

Decent vegan options!

We didn’t have high expectations but this place was actually really great!! We got the curry, which was just fine, and the hummus plate, which had ample roasted garlic cloves- yum!! I will say the hummus had too much sesame oil and when we go back one day I’ll tell them to hold off on that. We also got a side of fries- tasty. This was a fine meal in a place that typically doesn’t have a lot for vegans. If you have kids, there’s a nice play area, and TVs showing sports ( which entertained our kid for the whole meal). Our server Megan was also super nice- the best we have experienced in Newport.

Pros: Vegan options are pretty decent!, Good for kids

Cons: Weird food combinations

A mediocre vegan pizza.

3 clearly marked vegan options, 2 entrees and an appetizer. We tried the vegan yellow curry pizza which was basically a weak thai yellow curry with veggies on a pizza crust. It wasn't terrible.

Pros: Clearly marked vegan options.

Cons: Not a great slice of vegan pizza.
