Our favorite Indian restaurant

The vegan (and gluten free) options are incredible and staff is very knowledgeable. Taj keeps tofu on hand as a paneer substitute and can swap in oil and coconut milk for ghee, cream or yogurt in any dish. Any main dish on the menu can be prepped 'vegan style'. Taj is the only place where I've been able to order a vegan palak paneer. On top of being vegan friendly the food is incredible, well spiced, generous portions, and high quality ingredients.

Pros: Can make any veg item fully vegan, The best Indian food in CSRA

Delicious & Friendly Staff!

Full of flavor! I got a level 6 spice and it was plenty for me! You can also get no butter on the Naan ☺️

Pros: Cute spot, Friendly staff, Big portions

Vegan options

Taj of India is good Indian food in the CSRA. They are very friendly & can let you know what items are dairy free and vegan. The menu looks overwhelming with dairy but there are plenty of options if you talk to them. I love he vegetable samosas and the mushroom curry. Not bad prices. Good take out, not a huge place to sit and eat.

Veg friendly

When asked the manager quickly explained which items on the buffet were suitable for vegans. The manager “assumed” only the female in the party was vegan and brought out vegetarian bread. When I asked if it was vegan he quickly said “no”, he did not realize the man was also vegan, and quickly took the naan and brought a flat bread instead and said it was vegan.
The manager was consistently friendly and helpful. He kept water glasses filled and came to the table to check on us but not “too often”. Combined with a pleasant atmosphere it made for a very pleasant, relaxing lunch.
We like spicy food, particularly spicy Indian food, and we found the food rather bland. But we had a great time for lunch. While only less than half the buffet was suitable for vegans, it was enough to make it well worth the buffet price.

Pros: Willing to say vegetarian ON THE MENU, Willing to point out what is vegan, Nice atmosphere

Cons: I like spicy food and it was bland to me, menu is a little pricy
