Superb Little Cafe, Many Vegan Options!

I visited The Swellies after a morning walk through Coed Faenol (Vaynol Woods), and my breakfast there really hit the spot!

The Swellies offer indoor and outdoor dining and are in a great location on the waterfront with a view of Dinorwic Marina. The cafe is relaxed and stylish and they had cool alternative music playing during my visit. The staff are friendly and helpful, and the cafe opens for breakfast and lunch and is also dog friendly. The Swellies have just recently changed their menus, therefore, the copies of the menus we were handed were a bit messy with several items missing, and none of the vegan options were labelled. Nonetheless, there were lots of vegan options available, and I'm sure the vegan options will be labelled when their newly printed menus arrive as the cafe have always taken great care to individually label vegan and vegetarian dishes in the past in addition to having had many vegan specials on.

I had the Vegan Breakfast with a Tumeric (Oat) Latte and really enjoyed my meal. The latte was really lovely and was served on a cute yellow plate matching the coffee's yellowed hue. The breakfast was thoughtfully presented and really nice, and I particularly enjoyed their excellent mushrooms, vegan sausages, and vegan black pudding.

The Swellies is in a beautiful spot for a vegan breakfast, brunch, or lunch, and there are many options available, so I'm sure most vegans would find something they like. I recommend following their socials for updates on menu changes and vegan specials. The cafe can get really busy during the busier seasons, so I'd plan your visit carefully and be prepared to potentially have to wait for a table.

Pros: Lovely Food, Lots of Choices, Nice Variety of Options, Several Plant Milks, Beautiful Location

Cons: Vegan Options Not Labelled, No Vegan Cakes

Great spot for breakfast on the marina

Serves a 'full-english' style vegan breakfast with vegan sausages and scrambled tofu, and lunch options include vegan hot dog, burger, and BBQ soya chicken bap. Offers non-dairy milks and vegan beers. We ate here twice in one weekend, highly recommend for a hearty brunch or light lunch! Dog-friendly too.

Pros: Waterfront location, Friendly service, Tasty vegan options
