Great Bowls on sticky tables

I discovered Sunrise Shack Twin Fin (Waikiki) and this one in Kailua. A very good place for vegans, nice bowls and they replace the honey with syrup. I was not sure if staff knew what vegan means, they seemed a bit confused when I asked, but you can see a all ingredients on the menu. They also have avo toast.
But: the tables... Both Waikiki and Kailua in a very dirty condition, ew. A lot of sticky mess as spilled drinks, food scrab, bird droppings and it looked like this is not only from one day. I just wanted to sit outside and enjoy my monkey bowl but it was difficult to find a spot where I did not get stuck on something disgusting. Anyway, I give 4 stars for the good food and many vegan options, maybe I was just unlucky and it is better on other days.

Acai bowls & more!

Overall great acai bowl, however price is a bit steep compared to other spots on island. Also, more of a cute touristy vibe.

Açaí bowls

Needed a little snackie to get through to dinner and it was a great size. I ordered the Blue Dream and my friend ordered the POG, adding almond butter. Fruit topping was super fresh, granola was great but the Blue Dream base didn’t have a ton of flavor. I still enjoyed it and I’ve definitely had more flavorful bases.

Pros: Fresh , Located in cute surf theme boutique

More, please!

I'd be here daily if I had my dad's credit card! Love the menu, and on days when I'm not feeling super indulgent, a stuffed half a papaya is such a great option. Staff has been happy to answer questions and made swaps. And the seating out front is fun, with wandering chickens and tropical bird sounds. Walk here from Kailua Beach after sunrise!
I've only had the Papaya Bowl and Blue Majik Bowl, but hope to branch out (but, when I find a fave, I can't stop getting it!)
Lots of “stuff” for sale too - stickers, sustainable utensils, merch etc.

🌅 A Tropical Delight

If you’re seeking a slice of paradise in Kailua, look no further than the Sunrise Shack. A short walk from the beach, this delightful smoothie bar offers a refreshing array of treats.
The staff is ready to greet you with warm aloha spirit. The outdoor seating area is a great spot to chill and soak up the smoothie vibes.
We shared our bowls and enjoyed the delicious experience outside while watching the birds wander by.
Mahalo, Sunrise Shack, for serving up smiles, and smoothies! 🌴🥤

Pros: Close to beach, Outdoor seating

Cons: Parking can be tight

Good Healthy Basics

Avocado Toast was really yummy but took suuuuper long to make. They said the bread takes a while 🤷‍♀️

Smoothies, specifically the Blue Dream smoothie, could use some work. It was banana/mango/coconut cream but they definitely overuse the cream — it was all I could taste and the consistency was wayyyyy too thick. If we ever go back I’m going to stick with the Sunrise, Jungle Matcha, or Green Eyed Love smoothies as they don’t contain the coconut cream.

I’m not sure how long this location has been opinion but it appears to be very new. The interior had a strong paint smell that was a bit overpowering.
