Amazing food with a gorgeous setting

You wouldn’t think much of this place just by looking at the sign off the main road. I was expecting a dive bar vibe, but the restaurant is actually gorgeous and super high quality. We visited after our Airbnb host gave us recommendations for vegan-friendly restaurants.

The restaurant is part of Tranquilseas Resort, a quiet little operation right off the beach in Sandy Bay. It’s an outdoor terrace, almost like you’re hanging out in an upscale treehouse overlooking the water. The atmosphere is beautiful.

We did not have reservations and were immediately seated. The staff were incredibly kind and pleasant. I was shocked and amazed to discover that a resort restaurant actually had quite a handful of 100% vegan options, and not just basic iceberg lettuce salads—decadent, flavorful options. They even had bananas foster as a dessert, and one other option. Even if a place has vegan options, I’m not used to them having vegan dessert options! Bravo. I was seriously impressed.

I only got to dine here twice, but I would love to go back if I found myself in Roatan again to try more of their offerings. The curry was scrumptious, and the bananas foster was incredible! My partner eats meat and loved his fish. We actually came back a second time just to have the dessert after we’d eaten somewhere else.

I am so impressed and delighted that a resort restaurant would offer so many quality vegan options. Well done!!
