Tasty home cooked food - Edit
We were welcomed by an open fire and seated quickly. The vegan lasagne and garden burgers were devoured by our family and somehow squeezed in brownie and ice cream for dessert. There was a curry on the special board and had been sticky toffee pudding on offer however they had sold out. Would definitely recommend!

Lots to choose from in a pleasant old pub - Edit
Friendly staff supporting a large plant based menu. Service was very quick and the quality of food was very good.

Very nice pub - Edit
We were a party of four and we all enjoyed our meals. I had the vegan curry which was excellent. The omnis has a home made pie which they all enjoyed. There was only one vegan dessert, the ubiquitous chocolate brownie but at least there was something. Very friendly service and dog treats too! We will definitely go again.

Great pub with good vegan options - Edit
Having looked on many pub menus for vegan options in the Lake District it’s always great to stumble on a hidden gem. The day before we had eaten at the Punchbowl restaurant which boasted vegan option but the reality was a very poor showing, therefore I didn’t hold out much hope for this pub. But I was definitely mistaken! Three vegan options on the menu plus a starter and a dessert. Had the lasagna which was really good and you get lots of food. Would certainly recommend and we are going back in a few days
