Awful! - Edit
Had jackfruit burger. Jackfruit was large raw cold pieces as if from a tin, with 1 circle of BBQ sauce. Was supposed to be like 'pulled pork marinated in BBQ. £9.50. Awful

We landed here as the Herbarium was unfortunately closed for the day and the Alex looked permanently closed.

Had a vegan Brewdog IPA which was really nice then chose the vegan chilli hotdog with chips. Hubby had the pulled jackfruit sandwich, both ok, not the worst vegan meal I’ve had in a pub. There was also 5 bean chilli, a vegan dog (no chilli) and a falafel and spinach burger.
Pros: 5 vegan choices , Vegan IPA
Cons: Service slow considering hardly anyone in

Very friendly staff and a nice interior. Food was great but not cheap. We lucked out as they had extended the Eat Out To Help Out scheme so everything was half price.

The Study Room is a bar and restaurant offering a good selection of vegan options and Manager David was extremely helpful as regards my enquiries about allergy requirements and assured me which dishes I could have.
Read moreWe ordered pitta bread and dips to start, which as it turned out was a good decision, because the main courses were good sized portions. The houmous, guacamole and salsa were delicious mopped up with pitta bread and we demolished it quickly, as we only had a vegan Magnum for lunch, as the weather was scorching and we did not feel hungry.
Main courses were a vegan chilli hot dog for hubby and falafel and spinach burger, both served with chunky chips. We could not fault either dish, they were substantial and satisfying, the burger was moist and tasty, with lashings of sriracha and hubby loved his hot dog covered in melted cheese, although we failed to finish all the chunky chips, but not for the want of trying.
I was impressed with The Study Room and would definitely make a return visit, when I make my next trip to Lancaster. Highly recommended.

Quite a few vegan options on the menu! The vegan dog is really good and a large and filling portion. The bean chilli is nice as well.
Read moreMake sure to reserve if you want to sit and eat because there is very limited seating and it gets busy quickly.
