Not bad but gone downhill for vegans - Edit
There aren't many places to get decent vegan food in the area so worth visiting if nearby. The Strands used to have a big vegan menu but has gone down to 3 options now for the mains (chilli, a burger, and puttanesca pasta). The food is fairly standard pub food but at very high prices (£18 for a main).

Great place to eat - Edit
This lovely pub/hotel had several vegan options all of which sounded amazing!
Read moreI went here with my husband (also vegan) for starters I got the cauliflower bites which came with a delightful mint mayo dip 😋 my husband ordered onion bhajis which came with a tangy mango chutney and was also lovely!
For our main, we both initially ordered banana blossom fish and chips but they only had enough for one portion so my husband ordered the vegan lasagna. Both mains were brilliant!
They allow dogs inside and were so accommodating for our female dog who can be wary of strangers (training ongoing). Staff were so lovely, the atmosphere was nice and the beer even better! Will definitely make a return trip here.

And a few options for Vegan
More for vegetarian and a few for gluten free
I had the Vegan nachos ( no microwave ) cooked in the oven , very nice but could have done with a little more salsa . We both shared the onion barji ! The nicest thing I’ve tasted in a long time , very light and the curry pickle was amazing
Pros: Friendly pub

5 🌟 Vegetarian (vegan) Wellington - Edit
If I could rate this dish 5 🌟 I would. 3 of us ordered this dish and were completely blown away how good it was. Definitely one of the best vegan Wellingtons I've had in a long time. It came with carrots, whole small onions and braised cabbage. Shame the gravy wasn't vegan but I would still order this again and again and in fact I ordered the Wellington on its own after the main dish because it was just SO SO good.
