The Spicy Vegetarian - still open - Edit

Really nice vegetarian place and vegan friendly. Focus is on Mexican cuisine with main dishes and tapas, a little spicy, I personally like that a lot, but I am sure they are open to personal requests. We also had good wines with the food. The service was friendly and speaks English, which is nice if your Spanish is not fluent.
They had opening hours on the door: from noon to 4pm and 8pm to midnight.

Closed?? - Edit

We wanted to eat here yesterday, but it was closed. We think it might be closed forever, because we saw drinks on the bar with mold in it, unopened mail behind the door and dead plants in the window sill.. The 'horarios' on the window still said they are open every day. We were very disappointed, because this seemed to be the only vegan option in Ronda, we had no plan B..

Vegetarian Paella!! - Edit

Friendly staff who helpfuly advised us that we only needed one starter between the two of us if we were having the Paella.... such a treat to be able to eat Paella. The rice was firm but juicy! Absolutely delicious! The salad we had for the starter was also scrumptious! Big thumbs up from me.

Pros: Delicious food, Helpful, friendly staff

Vegetarian Paella- Wonderful food - Edit

The tapas of guacamole, Russian salad and red pepper puree were excellent and the paella was a special Spanish treat - beautifully done in a paella pan with artichoke slices on the top. Thanks to the Spice Route staff for the added touch of gluten free bread for my gluten free diet.

Pros: Excellent food, Helpful staff, Caters to special diets

Cons: Ask if you want the music turned down

Very vegan-friendly - Edit

The Spice Route is located really in the centre of Ronda. We got there for lunch-time (open until 4:30 pm. For dinner they open again at 8:00 pm.
Our waiter pointed out the vegan items on the menu right away. You can have almost everything vegan. We got the spinach croquettes as a starter and the paella as the main dish. We also received a free appetizer (pepper-almond-paste with pita-bread). Everything was exceptionally delicious. We definitely would go there again.
