Having recently moved to the the inner west side of town, I was happy to see that Sycamore Meadows has a sister cafe in Glenroy. I have to admit that my first impressions weren’t great - premises are smaller and the interior felt a bit dingy. I sat outside but the surroundings are less than idyllic, on a side street off Pascoe Vale Rd. To be honest, my coffee wasn’t fantastic either - the soy was a bit split with a very fluffy foam on a flat white. My brunch was really tasty though. I got The Californian - two golden rosti, piled with nicely spiced tofu scramble, lots of fresh greens, and creamy green goddess sauce on the side. Wouldn’t come for the coffee and ambience alone but would definitely eat here again. If HC allowed 1/2 stars I’d give it a 3.5 - 3 feels a bit stingy but it’s a few marks off a 4 for me.

Enjoyed my Nourish Bowl at The Spade. Such a generous serving, with fresh sesame seeded falafel, tofu, kale, avocado, edamame....so good!

The sibling cafe to Sycamore Meadows, this trendy cafe serves great coffee and excellent food. We shared the vegan ‘beef’ burger (jackfruit)/ sweet potato fries and breakfast wrap. I’d seriously travel across town to have this wrap again! Tofu scramble was really well made and the combo of flavours in the breakfast wrap was superb. The wrap itself was light, crisp and tasty. Will definitely order again. The space and decor create a lovely atmosphere to dine in and the staff are lovely. Wine, bread baked onsite, coffee beans - whole and ground as well as trendy flower bouquets are also for sale.

Best place for vegan food in Glenroy - Edit
One of the best vegan breakfasts I've ever had. We ordered the Malibu mash and swapped the eggs with scrambled tofu at no extra cost. We also ordered the mushroom melody. Mushrooms on toast is often the option I have to go for as a vegan, but the flavours on this dish were unbelievable. The food was so good!! We had our dog with us but it was really hot, so even though they were busy, they moved some tables around so that we could sit in the shade. The people who work there are all so lovely and helpful. When I paid I said how fantastic it was to finally have a cafe with so many delicious vegan options in Glenroy, and three people's faces absolutely lit up. This showed me how much they cared about creating good plant based food. We didn't try the coffee, but we will definitely be back!
