Finally! Been searching for the best hot chicken while in Nashville and I’ve finally found it at The Southern V! I had the hot chicken sandwich, with greens, baked beans, macaroni, and also ordered the chicken fried chicken for later.
Read moreI thought the hot chicken sandwich was fantastic. Easily the best I’ve had on this trip. The baked beans were tasty and the greens were ok. I wasn’t, however, a fan of the macaroni. The chicken fried chicken tasted good and I enjoyed the gravy.
I wish they served breakfast at all times because I really was looking forward to a chicken biscuit sandwich and/or chicken and waffles 🙃

Best vegan food in Nashville - Edit
I live in the neighborhood and I’ve eaten everything on their menu. This is it. This is the vegan place you’re looking for. The flavor is top notch and the fried chicken is on point. Don’t sleep on the burgers though, I am absolutely addicted to their mushroom burger. The nachos are also absolutely delicious.

The food here was absolutely one of the best we’ve tasted for vegan soul food. We are from California visiting Nashville. This place is on par if not better that vegan soup food we’ve had in Los Angeles. We got the chicken sandwich, spicy chicken tenders, baked beans, milkshake, and cornbread. Everything made our mouths water.

The Southern V blew my mind. We ordered the patty melt and the nashville hot chicken sandwich with mac n cheese and cole slaw for sides. The mac was full of flavor which is hard to come by for vegans. The slaw was great as well, not too watery, almost sweet, and still crunchy. The patty melt was awesome but the hot chicken sandwich….. may be the best thing Ive had in my whole life. I will be stopping here any time I visit Nashville from here on. Side note: there is no inside dining, everything has to be ordered online and taken to your car. Still just as good.

Passing through; was hoping for the chicken and waffles, but it was not on offer. However, I was really pleased and would definitely go back if anywhere near the place.
Read moreGot the chicken sandwich, which was really fresh and well put-together – the patty seems to be made in-house. The only change I would suggest is that the sauce could add a bit more flavor.
The mac-and-cheeze that accompanied was also pretty subtle – but it had a really texture and was something I would churn through if given the chance.
Friendly business that I would love to support. It's still takeout only as of this review, though you can eat on the patio.
Pros: Seems all homemade, Freshness and ingredients, Friendly local business
Cons: A bit more flavor in the sauce would be nice. :)

Nashville actually has a number of good vegan breakfast options, but I think The Southern V is the best one. The biscuits are soft and the faux proteins are among the best I’ve had.

I had the Chick'n Fried Chick'n w/ turnip greens & cornbread with a cookie for dessert. Everything was delicious & exactly what I was looking for while visiting Nashville. They only had take-away option but did have a small set up out front so we were able to sit.

Currently only open for curbside pickup and only for lunch due to covid] SO glad we got curbside pickup while in town. Their vegan Nashville hot chicken sandwich and plain chicken tenders were some of the best vegan chicken we've had anywhere. I can't stop thinking about the peanut butter cup mylkshake. Sides were good too, especially baked beans and Mac n cheeze.

Only open now for pickup at lunch. The whole menu is vegan Southern food. We tried BBQ Jackfruit sandwich and Rodeo burger. Flavorful and each sandwich comes with a side. Turnip greens and baked beans were both a hit.

I drove 4 hours just to try their food. They were only serving breakfast on the day I went so I couldn't try a lot of the items I had my mind set upon.
Read moreThe spicy chicken biscuits was amazing! I disliked their tofu scramble, which was mushroom-ridden and they couldn't be omitted. I also disliked the pastries that I had: a donut and an apple fritter. Both were lacking. If I'm ever back in BNA, I'd stop by again to try other items and to see if any of the pastries have improved.

We heard so many good things about this place while visiting Nashville so decided to give it a shot. The fried chicken sandwich was incredible and my mouth is watering just thinking about it. I added the Gouda to mine and would highly recommend. I also got the Mac side and wow. 🤤

We came to this spot to try a vegan Nashville Hot and it did not disappoint. I enjoyed it thoroughly but it was too spicy for my wife to enjoy more than a bite or two. The Mac and cheese was the best I've ever had and the philly was just perfect.

Real hot chickn here! At least my gf testified that it was legit for vegan hot chicken. Fun to have an authentic Nashville experience at a vegan restaurant. We had the cliff burger, too, which was also good but just a regular burger—not as endemic as the hot chickn!

I've had almost every item on their menu at this point. This is the best vegan fried chicken you will likely ever eat. Ever. Expertly crafted to be juicy, full, and crispy. You cant go wrong with their chicken or burger options, and the online ordering system is seamless. Yes, it is expensive, but I have no problem paying for quality food and supporting a local black owned start up business. You can tell this is a passion project for the owners, and I'm happy to see them expanding into selling bottled sauces as well. Get the honey mustard!
