everything i’ve had here over the years has been amazing. i feel so lucky to have a place like this in akron. i tried the breakfast burrito today and it was OUT OF HAND!!!!!

This place used to (supposedly) be vegan, but now they sell as many meals made of dead animals flesh as they do anything else. Shameful that they're still using the name "soulful vegan" as they clearly are not vegan and never were. Plant-based eating is not the same as being an ethical vegan. And a restaurant offering a few vegan options does absolutely NOT qualify it as a vegan restaurant. Shame on this place and it's owner for exploiting abused animals and selling their flesh as food.

“New” location is a definite upgrade. Nice vibe with bar. The Saturday evening we were there (6pm) -Ordered a vodka-soda. They were somehow out of soda water and tonic water. Also out of all three vegan appetizers. The “missing chicken” sandwich was kinda small but delicious, as was the Cole slaw. Fries were crispy. They don’t offer any desserts which seems like a missed opportunity.

Read moreMy earlier review read: I’ve had SV food twice before their move and twice after. It always tastes good. I prefer more veggies in my food, but as an occasional treat, the vegan versions of animal products can be yummy. Please note that after the move, they raised their prices like most small businesses have had to do.

Unfortunately, prior to moving to downtown Akron, i thoroughly enjoyed the food. After they moved to downtown Akron, my first visit was very slow as i was seated with my girlfriend and her mother and it took 1 hour after being seated to get our food. The next time we ordered chicken tenders and we received the turkey roast (we think but can’t confirm). We didn’t complain because it wasn’t such a big deal. This time around we ordered online again for delivery and had to call since on DoorDash you can’t choose two different sides, only one and we requested some onion rings and truffle fries. After receiving the order, we didn’t get the onion rings, and we were missing an entire piece of the order due to DoorDash separating it for some reason. I called and they mentioned that it was being made and i said “no big deal, I’ll just come pick it up.” When i got home from picking it up, it wasn’t what i ordered either. It was supposed to be a Humpty Dumpty burger and it didn’t have egg, which is fine — it mentions that they don’t have any egg—but it also didn’t have bacon, red onions, guacamole. It had mushrooms, some sort of cheese, lettuce, and onions. Can’t find it in me to go back, especially with the recent menu switch..

Agreed. First experience at the new location was a major disappointment. Not worth it at all, especially since they're serving murdered animals now. Plus, the owner doesn't take accountability well. It's all one big vanity project for her.

Beyond expectation! The philly cheesesteak was incredible, so flavorful and the cheese was warm and gooey and soo crave worthy; great alternative to a tender steak and the peppers and onions and mushrooms were cooked perfectly from the grill. The sweet potato fries were perfectly crispy and thick . The hostess and waitress were both very nice and welcoming. My boss loved her burger, and said it was a great "smash burger" style with a "runny" fried egg! I cannot wait to come back and try the ribs next!

This restaurant recently moved from a small space near me to a fancy new space downtown. I didn't stop here often because it is mostly fancy veggie burgers and greasy meat replacements. There aren't healthy dishes on the menu. The service was also traditionally apathetic so I usually got carry out only. Hopefully that will be better in the new space. The food is very good but I'd like to see actual vegetable dishes.

I have only been to this location once, but it was very good. There are healthy options and not so healthy options, but both were exceptionally tasty! I had the bbq ribs with collard greens and onion rings. Be prepared for them to make your food. I waited about 20-25 minutes to order and have food prepared. It's totally worth the wait.

Initially, I was very excited to try the food at this restaurant. Unfortunately, I had a horrible experience. I had a pickup order. It was difficult to hear the person taking my order due to noise. I am not sure if it was a bad phone connection. The person I spoke to on the phone did not seem knowledgeable about the menu. When I got to the restaurant music was blasting and it took a while to pay for my order. Overall I just felt very unwelcome. The atmosphere did not seem like a restaurant to me, but more like someone's private backyard bbq. When I drove into the parking lot there we're women barbecuing and smoking right in front of the parking area. The food was not that great especially for the price. I have had much better experiences at other vegan restaurants. I am hesitant to give the restaurant a second chance because my first experience was so bad.

My husband and I have been here twice. The food was great both times. The second time we went, they were out of several menu items that we ordered, but I think the owner is doing a lot of the work herself, so I wasn't upset. She's doing a great job! My husband loved the bac'n on the burger.

Really exceptional, homemade food! Our table ordered the fish sandwich, chicken sandwich, a burger with bacon guac etc, and the rib meal with mac n cheese and truffle fries. Ranks up there as the best vegan food I've had. Rib meal was expensive and not that large, but oh how I've missed ribs!
