Gorgeous food and location - Edit
This place is a real treat. The food is all vegetarian with a good proportion vegan. On my visit there was vegan homity pie, sausage roll, spicy chickpea roll, pasty and other things too. Quite a few cake choices too. The decor is really cosy and would be equally good to enjoy in the garden on a sunny day or inside on one of the comfy sofas in winter.
Read moreThe food was really good - a very substantial salad with grains, leaves, fruit, seeds and vegetables - absolutely full of flavour. Service was a little on the slow side although that might be partly down to the time we turned up, I'll know to allow more time next time. We'll definitely be returning because I want to try more of the food!
There's parking on the street between the cafe and the station so it's easily accessible too.

Possibly - one of my most favourite places ever - Edit
I love everything about this place, the large variety of herbal teas, inventive food menu, little deli at the front - and the decor, lots of plants and vintage furniture.
Read moreThe atmosphere is really cosy in winter - and it’s lovely to sit outside in spring / summer (they have chickens!)
They do tasty curries, homity pies, salads, with lots of vegan options. Everything else is vegetarian. They have a large tea menu - I always go for a misty green tea!

A wonderful homely experience - Edit
The moment we walked in we could feel the stress of the world lifting from our shoulders. The smell, decor, atmosphere and staff made a combined experience which felt so chilled out and relaxed. So many choices of tea and always a tea of the day made up for visitors to try. Staff are good at recommendations of what to try too.

Kristy had a Turmeric Oat Milk Latte, and I had an amazing orange and spice tea. They are an amazing tea house with real tea not sweepings off the floor.
We also shared vegan chocolate as well as a carrot cake. Also delicious!
We took away a couple of vegan sausage rolls which tasted amazing.
So wish we lived closer.

Excellent lunch! - Edit
Popular vegetarian place with small food shop adjacent. Many kinds of tea, coffees, cold drinks. For the main meal, you choose one hot dish - three choices were vegan - and then a colourful array of vegan sides are arranged on an oblong platter and served to your table. Sides include hummus, olives, potato salad, slaw, edamame beans, etc. All tasty. A very good meal. I chose the Nut Wellington (puff pastry) for my hot item, and it was very good and filling. There were attractive-looking desserts available, cakes and ice cream, some of the cakes being vegan and at least one gluten-free. Wonderful to find a good vegetarian eatery in a small village. The Village Shop had fresh produce, deli items, baked goods and treats. (The building was formerly the Sondes Arms pub.)
