Delightful - Edit
Beautifully presented and hearty portions were promptly served from a varied and ambitious menu. As a Hungarian goulash aficionado I loved trying the Czech version with potato pancakes and fresh chilli garnish.

Excellent food and service - Edit
Decided to opt for some Czech vegan food during my stay over the festival weekend (I ran the half marathon) and was not disappointed. I opted for Mac n cheese plus quite a few cakes! Utterly delicious! Service was excellent too. Laid back and excellent choice for families or those not wanting hum drum of busy city centre. Thanks so much. Highly recommended

Fab Fab Fab! - Edit
What a lovely little vegan cafe offering a range of toasted sandwiches, breakfasts, soups, and much more. I was spoilt for choice and decided to go for the breakfast. Made a lovely change to have haggis and potato cakes - both of which were delicious. If I lives here I would be there all the time so I could make my way though the menu.
Read moreThere are a great range of cakes. I had the 'honey' and plum cake - OMG it was so lovely. It's not a huge place but very chilled and I'll be back when I'm next around.
Pros: Lovely range of tasty food, The cake, Nice chilled vibe
Cons: None!

Great for brunch - Edit
I tried their pancakes and my partner had their potato pancakes which was a bit too sour for my taste but he really loved it. I was pretty satisfied with my sweet pancakes which were packed with fruits and syrup. The interior of the cafe is really cute too. I would definitely go back.

Disappointing - Edit
I visited the Sly Fox 3 times and although I really wanted to like it, the food is really amateur. Their burger is good but overpriced: the kimchi is a nice touch, but I wished they used better fries (the ones they use are cheap frozen ones). Apart from this, everything else was sad. Their cake was soooo dry, the coffee was undrinkable (it even had coffee grounds in!), and their french toast tasted too much of turmeric and not much of anything else. It's so confusing too because there are so many amazing vegan french toast recipes online, and it's as if they've chosen the worst one to add to their menu.

Great to try something a bit out of the ordinary and eat a vegan Czech meal. I had the stuffed potato pancake, super tasty and very filling - it’s not often that I can’t finish a meal!

AMAZING - Edit
They are so friendly, the food is great, and I got to try some vegan versions of foods that are especially difficult to make vegan. Faux Gras was so well-done I was shocked. Beautiful too!

Great food with some different options - Edit
Really nice food and not the same old stuff that so many vegan places do...no Beyond Burgers or Moving Mountains anywhere! Instead some way more interesting options, and the two I got to try were fantastic- goulash and the seaweed arancini. Lots more to try so looking forward to a return visit.

Varied menu - Edit
First time visiting the sly fox after trying the arranchini at the vegan market. Ordered the potato pancakes and a toastie. Both very fab although very filling. My friend went for the veggie breakfast. We also tried the rose latte which was great. Will return if in the area again. The decor was also lovely and the service was great.

The perfect café - Edit
I absolutely love this place! My other half is Czech (and vegan like me), so we were delighted to discover this Czech vegan café in Edinburgh. The food is utterly delicious and always very well seasoned. I am also a big fan of the decor (posters of famous Czech women). All in all, I would say this is probably my new favourite place in the whole city. I recently moved away from Scotland, but I will definitely be back when I am in Edinburgh again.

Deliciously different - Edit
If you’re tired of the same vegan menu options then this place is perfect! The dishes are influenced by Czech cuisine, they have the best selection of drink options from the fridge and also raw desserts from Rawsmary. My favourite cafe in leith!
