Not recommended for vegans - Edit

After discussing with our waiter it became clear that the only available vegan options were the uvegan crepe, the sweet potato fries, and the regular fries. Veggie burger contained egg and chili contained cheese. We were really excited about the uvegan crepe though. The root vegetable and black bean filling sounded awesome!

Unfortunately the crepe was really bad. The crepe was thick, and somehow both dry and doughy tasty. The filling was also dry so it wasn't able to balance out the terrible crepe dough. The salsa was the only tasty thing on the plate and unfortunately it was just a small bowl of it so not enough to drown the rest of the mediocre crepe in it.

I think it's really cool that they designed a vegan crepe that doesn't rely on cheese substitutes etc but unfortunately it's really just not good tasting and their vegan crepe batter needs some work. It has a gummy texture like it's made with commercial egg replacer and I think they'd be better off using a more thoughtful recipe. There's lots of good ones on the internet, please Google them, The Skinny Pancake!

Pros: Has a dedicated, original vegan option, Good salsa, Enjoyed the ambience, good service

Cons: Vegan crepe batter is quite bad, Vegan crepe filling was not tasty, Only one vegan option on the menu

Cozy place to grab a bite - Edit

This cozy little spot in downtown Hanover is a great place to go with friends. The staff is extremely kind and will do everything they can to make sure you have a good experience with them. The place itself has a very nice setting and decor that make it a comfy place to grab a meal.
The menu is comprised of crepes, comfort food, sandwiches, burritos, and salads. There are a good number of vegetarian options, and even a few vegan ones. One can request for Vegan/GF crepe batter to be used on any of their crepes. The one specifically vegan crepe is the UVegan, which has beans, a tasty root slaw, and jalapeños. It comes with guacamole and pico de gallo, and is actually quite good. Another good vegan crepe option is the Sasquash. When I have this I request they use vegan batter and remove the goat cheese the original crepe comes with.
However, despite having a few vegan options and the option to "veganize" any dish, Skinny Pancake could use a few more vegan friendly options on their menu, since the UVegan is the only actually vegan menu item. Additionally, dessert crepes are so dependent on dairy that it is impossible to veganize any of them. Hopefully a vegan dessert option is added to the menu in the future.
Overall, I do recommend The Skinny Pancake as nice spot to grab a casual meal.

Pros: tasty, nice ambiance, friendly staff

Cons: limited vegan options
