Mislabeled! :( - Edit
There were several things labeled vegan, which was very exciting, but they were not actually vegan. One of the dishes - orange & date kale salad had honey in the dressing. The dessert had a pistachio cookie/phyllo pastry that came with the mango habanero sorbet, which was made with butter. Everything we had tasted delicious, but it was disappointing to have things labeled vegan when they really weren't.

changing options, labels vegan - Edit
The nice thing about the Silk Road is that they label there menu with what is vegan and what can be made vegan. The options change with the seasons - new seasonal menus through the year. There are usually 4-6 vegan options available. This is a tapas-style place, so you have to order quite a few items if you are hungry. The savory items are tasty. I was also at a party that they carried with various vegan appetizers (hummus and other spreads, and small salads), which was very tasty. I wish that an elegant hummus plate like that was on the menu! They have one vegan dessert, but it is a spicy sorbet! It would be nice if they also had something chocolate.... A good place though and worth a try for a fancy dinner.
The waiter we had last time was vegetarian and very knowledgeable about vegan options.
Pros: labels vegan, knowledgeable waitstaff , tasty cuisine
Cons: needs more vegan dessert options
