Surprisingly good options for a small village

Was staying nearby so called in for Sunday lunch. Lovely surprise that a pub in a small village would cater so well. The staff are nice and friendly. I asked for the vegan option, the lady suggested speaking with the chef to make sure I was given a vegan meal. It was nice, it did say nut roast on the menu but maybe that wasn't vegan or available as I was given something more like a risotto. This came with roast and mash potatoes, lots of veg and gravy. An odd combination but was nice, especially the roast potatoes they were lovely. There were two vegan desserts which is lovely to see a treacle pie and a Bakewell tart both served with vegan ice cream.
Desserts were delicious so I decided on the 4 star rating. Would definitely try here again and would be interested to see what the every day menu offers.
