Serves meat, vegan options available. Small cafe off Westgate Rd and near Central Station. Around half the menu is vegetarian and looks like sandwiches could be made to order (ask) with hummus, falafel, salsa, caramelized onion, roasted veggies, etc. Offers a selection of veggie salads including bok choi & sesame, and chickpea & spinach. Fair trade coffee and other drinks. Reported closed, Jan 2019.

Great soup and salad

Soup and salad is very tasty and a great price. Sandwiches are nice as they use pink lane bread but would be nice if they branched out from falafel. They used to serve pumphreys coffee (may still do) so the coffee is always fantastic.

A regular haunt

Great little cafe with super friendly staff, proper tasty food and a chilled atmosphere. They always have vegan sandwich, salad and soup options. Quite a bit of outdoor seating space for the summer too!

Pros: Always have vegan , Friendly staff and atmosphere

Cons: Sells meat too, Need vegan cakes!

My favourite coffee shop and lunch time shop

Settle Down Cafe isn't a vegetarian cafe but they have a lot of amazing vegetarian options. Their salad is to die for, the do amazing pizzas and fantastic soups. Their £5 meal deal is a winner too and add all that to their amazing coffee and a scrumptious cakes and you'll know why this is my top cafe pick in Newcastle. Try it out, it'll quickly become a fast favourite of yours too I'm sure.

Pros: Great veggie options , Great value, Amazing staff

Cons: not open at night ( they will be soon)

Settle Down Kids

Right next to Tilleys bar in a cracker jackson part of town. This is a decent eaterie where you will find canny veg / vegan food lurking lovingly amongst the meat in pleasant surroundings. British food, British drinks, British Britain.

Pros: Decent food, Nice location, Friendly

Cons: Serves meat

good food

Bowl was chipped, but the vegan Autumnal Root Vegetable soup was very tasty, garnished with roasted pumpkin seeds (too pulpy to eat). Vegan falafel sandwich on seedy bun was good. Soup & sandwich for £4.50. Also available: treats, mini-pizzas. Meat is used too.
Private small room at rear. Large table for groups.

Pros: tasty vegan soups and sandwiches

Cons: not completely vegetarian, needs some new dishes
