All-vegan place operated by Chef Marian Cottle. Everything is strictly vegan and meals are custom prepared by the chef. There are no menus - you have a conversation with the chef and it turns into a custom meal. Workshops and catering are also available.

Best vegan experience

We stayed for one night (Dinner, Bed & Breakfast) in Old Joe’s Kaia, as a route divider between the Kruger National Park and JNB.
The whole complex is beautifully designed, the large garden invites you to stroll around and the pool offers a cool refreshment. The bungalow is spacious and well equipped, with a comfortable bed and a clean bathroom.
The highlight of the stay was definitely the vegan food. Marian, the chef, conjures up a wonderful and tasty menu with dedication. Everything is freshly prepared, many ingredients come from their own garden. Every course of the menu was absolutely exceptional and tasted delicious. Also the breakfast was a feast for the eyes and palate, Marian spoiled us culinarily very much.
From the ready-made dry meals available in the house shop, we stocked up for the further tours. These were also extraordinary!
Before leaving we had an interesting conversation with Marian, about vegan cooking and life in South Africa.
We can only recommend the property, which was by far the best vegan food.
