Expensive but delicious - Edit
I had the prawn linguini, without the prawns - really tasty but a little spicy for me, still really enjoyed it although £27 was steep. My wife got the beetroot burger which she said was really good. As a previous review has said the vegan fish is no longer available.

Burger and chips - Edit
I had the beetroot and quinoa burger and chips (as it said they were sold out of the vegan fish). The burger was fine, but didn’t have much flavour. The chips were tasty and the mush peas good. Would just have that next time.
Read morePros: Good chips , Nice benches to sit at putside, Good mushy peas

Nice - Edit
Chips was really delicious. Fish fillers were nice but they could add more vegan options. But overall, a nice meal.

Out of stock - Edit
Vegan fish option was out of stock when we visited, it was peak season though (end of March). Chips were nice if a little pricey.

Rare vegan fish find - Edit
I would like to give two stars for this place but have to give 3 for the fact that such a small place on the west coast of Scotland actually has a vegan fish option. I come from a big city that doesn't even have that!
Read moreThe fish is a bog standard frozen vegan fish you'd find in a supermarket and the chips that I bought were fried for too long.
So you can see why if this wasn't a vegan related review I would probably give it a two. 1 star for effort though.
Pros: Vegan fish option, Clear menu
Cons: Pricey for what it is, Good options but low quality

Tasty 'fish' and chips - Edit
We had the takeaway vegan 'fish' and chips in July 2023. I checked with them in advance and they confirmed that the chips are cooked on their own in veggie oil and the 'fish' is oven cooked. It's a bit pricey at £12:50 a portion but everything is pricey in Ullapool, vegan or not. The portions were massive and really tasty. We were lucky enough to have nice weather so sat at the outside picnic tables.

Lovely vegan fish - Edit
Lovely vegan option available on the menu and the chips are very good! Shame there isn’t more vegan options available but great that they have this one.

Taste of the vegan "fish" better than the texture was! - Edit
So glad that we took out and didn't eat in, if we had paid the sit in prices then my review would be probably less favourable! Would I eat there again probably not. Probably more 3 stars than 4. The fourth gained for just having a vegan option.

The most ridiculously overpriced place in the whole Scottish isles - Edit
Two quorn fillets, a standard chips and tiny ramekin of mushy peas for £19.95. We paid because we were clamming after hillwalking and there was nowhere else vegan for 30 miles.
Read morePros: Had quorn. Hard to [censored] up Quorn isn’t it , Dogs allowed, Soup of the day was vegan (was also £8)
Cons: Hugely overpriced , Even takeaway was only £2 cheaper

Overpriced for what it is - Edit
We were very excited as we seen it had a vegan fish option. After we had ordered the woman said we could wait in the bar as the vegan fish is frozen and cooked in the oven. When it came it was just 2 quorn fishless filets. The chips were also dry and very tasteless. When we asked about other sauce other than ketchup she told us there might be mayo (non vegan obviously). It’s good a place in the highlands does have this option but for £21 for 2 I honestly do not recommend,. We wished we went to the deli nearby for soup and toastier or deli roll option.

Vegan Fish and Chips - Edit
It's very cool that this place offers vegan fish and chips in a relatively small town. There is a restaurant and a take-away next door. I had the vegan fish and chips from the take-away, it's a lot cheaper there. I would say don't go for the restaurant as the vegan fish and chips seems a bit overpriced there. The chips could have been a little crispier.
Read morePros: vegan option in a small town, take-away option reasonably priced, quick
Cons: not the best chips, restaurant seems quite expensive

Great vegan ‘fish’! - Edit
Great to have vegan options at a fish and chip shop in the Highlands. The vegan ‘fish’ fillets were really tasty, a bit like the texture of a mushy fish finger if that makes sense? My only complaint would be that I would have preferred the chips to have been cooked a tad longer as they were quite anemic looking.

Vegan fish and chips! - Edit
To find vegan fish and chips in the Scottish highlands was very unexpected and exciting. Tasty fake fish fillets. Note that it is much cheaper to get the meal as takeaway than sit in restaurant.
