Relaxed, friendly & worth a diversion - Edit
The Roundhill is away from the centre of Brighton and was quite quiet when I visited it. I had the Buddha bowl and that was a meal in itself. Good value for money & an interesting mix of different/enjoyable foods. Photo is after I’d started eating it. I also had a smoked garlic miso aubergine starter & shouldn’t have done because I was very full after my meal. The starter was very tasty though.

MARAVILLOSO - Edit
Fuimos un miércoles que se ofrecía un plato de pasta y copa de vino por 10 libras. La amabilidad del servicio, el sabor de la pasta y la parmesana, buenísimo.

Fantastic Sunday roast - maybe the best food I’ve had in England - Edit
The Round Hill really feels like what I imagine an authentic British pub to be. Then again, I’m Norwegian, so I can’t say for sure what the real deal looks like in the UK. But what I do know is good taste—and this place definitely has it.
Read moreHonestly, I haven’t been very impressed by most food I’ve tried in England so far. To me, it often feels bland, even under-salted. But The Round Hill? They’re clearly no strangers to salt and spices.
We visited on a Sunday to try their Sunday roast, which we’d read a lot of great things about—and it did not disappoint. We went for two versions: the seitan roast beef and the butternut squash roast. Both were fantastic. The squash roast felt a bit lighter and healthier, while the seitan had that satisfying, hearty flavor. Either way, one portion was more than enough for a grown adult.
The cocktails were also a highlight. We tried a mix of alcoholic and non-alcoholic options, including a Bloody Mary, a Pink Lady and a Japanese no gin something something, and an espresso martini with caramel—yes, that one had alcohol, and yes, it was delicious.
The whole meal came to about £70 (without tip), which felt more than fair considering the quality. We tipped, of course—the food and service were both top-notch.
Getting there was easy, too. If you don’t feel like walking, most buses from town will take you straight there. The place was busy the whole time we were there, but even though they’d seemingly misplaced our reservation (which we made just a few days earlier), they still found us a seat without any issue.
Bonus: There was a slightly dement neighborhood cat trying to sneak into the restaurant. It was adorable—and apparently well known to the staff, who made sure it got home safely.
All in all, this might’ve been the best food experience I’ve had in England so far. I can recommend it wholeheartedly, even if you’re not vegan.

Perfect Sunday Roast - Edit
The Sunday roast was perfect. Very big portions and perfectly cooked. The roast potatoes were lovely and crispy. The sticky toffee pudding was gorgeous. Great service too. 100% recommended.

Love this place and have eaten here a good few times. Intolerant to onion in any way, shape or form but they always cater well.

Wish we had more of this kind of thing - Edit
We got served the wrong kind of tea but my girlfriend didn't even notice til I said, so there you go. All the food has a kind of Asian fusion element and it isn't too clear why. Just a normal pub otherwise; I had a nice pint of session ale. Sort of demonstrates how normal vegan pubs could or should become.

Fantastic Vegan Pub 🍔🍟 - Edit
We enjoyed a sunny weekend at the Roundhill Pub sitting outside with a pint of beer and delicious meal. The portion size was great, prices were reasonable and it was very delicious. We had the king oyster mushroom kimchi burger and 2 sides as a main - padron peppers and fried cauliflower. Highly recommend and would definitely go back again!

Great, flavorful burger and chips/fries - Edit
I had a delicious burger and chips/fries here. Everything was so flavorful! I highly recommend the food.
Read moreI think I would need to go there a second time to get a sense of the usual decor/atmosphere. I'm not sure if I went at an unusually slow day/time (weekday, midday) because when I was there, there were items like produce boxes on empty tables and it was a bit cluttered in that respect...but that may have been an anomaly because I don't see that other reviewers seem to have experienced that. :)
Pros: Great food, Fully vegan

Very nice - Edit
We had the seitan and the Wellington roasts.
Read moreThe seitan was a bit disappointing tbh, very thin and only 2 slices.
The Wellington one was really good, but a 3rd slice would have been even better.
Also, both dishes were a bit cold.

Tasty but small - Edit
We went for a Sunday roast but was very disappointed by how small the portions were for the price. £16.50 for two small pieces of seitan beef, 3 small potatoes, 1 carrot, small amount of kale and red cabbage. Only normal sized thing was the Yorkshire which was very yummy. All very tasty but just not enough for the price. I wouldn't go back for a Sunday Roast. It was a nice atmosphere though and the staff were very friendly.

Just put of interest. Did you speak to them about the portion sizes there and then? Give them the opportunity to offer another potato, bit more so you'd go back? We've lost the art of speaking to people and would rather leave reviews online. I've always had good portions in there, but if you don't say anything they don't know.

Decent Sunday lunch but disappointing elements - Edit
We were excited to try the Sunday lunch at this 100% pub in Brighton and were hungry. The selection was limited to 3 main options, 1 side and 3 desserts. We chose seitan and wellington, both were good but portions were a bit mean - two slices of wellington and more potatoes and veg on both would have made this 4 stars. But the cauliflower cheese side although large, was cold and not cheesy nor from the oven, we sent it back once and then ate the slightly warmer replacement out of hunger. Service was good from the manager but other two staff were forgetful so drinks took ages, we got our food after people next to us who had ordered a while after us.

Delicious! - Edit
We had a lovely family meal mid afternoon - and had the place to ourselves. We all thought the Small Plates looked more appealing than the limited selection of Mains. I had the cauliflower in BBQ sauce (beautifully crispy batter and delicious sauce) and tofu/broccoli skewers (another delicious sauce, but not on the menu currently online) and I finished off some delicious chips (again with a lovely sauce). My son said the houmous was awesome.

One of my very favorite restaurants! - Edit
This is a cute and cozy English pub with fantastic food, great drinks, and all vegan menu! We went for Sunday Roast. It was our very first one not being from the UK and it was absolutely incredible. We each got different ones; seitan steak, Beet Wellington, and Butternut and sage roast. All we great and all the sides were so good, fresh, and delicious. The Yorkshire pudding and gravy were fantastic. All love!

Lovely vegan pub - Edit
There’s a decent choice on the menu, I went for the tofish bites (which were on the specials board) - the actual tofish bits didn’t have much flavour but the tartare sauce was really good. Also got chips with it, I don’t think it would have been enough for dinner without those - the chips were delicious. We also had the hummus to share which was really good and my wife got the burger which she enjoyed.

Vegan Roast Sunday dinner - Edit
We just ust got into town and our second step was a vegan roast Sunday dinner at The Roundhill Pub. I had the smoked beetroot and mushroom wellington. It’s going to be a long time before a dinner tops this one!

Not wheelchair accessible but good food - Edit
Food was good and staff were friendly. Not wheelchair accessible due to steps in and a door so narrow I had to remove the wheels from my chair to get it inside which I've never had to do before. Mens toilets were also up a staircase which I had no hope of being able to get to

Sunday lunch - Edit
We had Sunday lunch last weekend, I love a vegan SL but you don't get good ones very often, particularly with a big fat Yorkshire! Was looking forward to it and it didn't disappoint. Duff seat at first and run out of red wine but the lunches were lovely. The cauli cheese was a bit dry and not cheesey. I couldn't fit a pudding in sadly!!!

Really good vegan pub food - Edit
Went here for their vegan sunday roast. I had the special with seitan chicken, and every bit of it was delicious. Lots of gravy, lots of veg, and the yorkshire pudding is excellent! I've always struggled to find good vegan yorkshire puds but these are great.
