Delightful - Edit
The place was adorable and the menu large and varied. Bowls, breakfast wraps, pastry and ice cream. We stopped in twice on one trip to Fort Wayne. The food was delicious and the portion sizes generous. Staff was helpful and friendly. Will stop again next trip to Fort Wayne.

Perfection! - Edit
I’ve been vegan for many years, always felt left out living in rural Indiana with the only vegan restaurant nearby being in Fort Wayne, which I very very rarely make the drive to. Having Rooted open just a few minutes drive from my house was the best things to happen to me relating to my veganism! I hope Rooted and its amazing owners have many many years of success!
Read moreEvery single thing that I’ve tried off of their menu has been an absolute banger, there is not a single small critique I could make about any of their food, just absolute perfection. Their smoothies and sweets always cheer me up on bad days. Every employee I’ve encountered there, as well as both of the owners, are the most kind and caring sort of people you could meet! Both my Thanksgiving and Christmas meals were from Rooted this past year, and I got my birthday cake from them as well! Food is my love language, and Rooted Vegan has a death grip on my heart!

Amazing!! - Edit
This is truly one of the best vegan restaurants in the US. First of all, it’s 100% vegan which is rare. Finding it in rural Indiana is even more remarkable. Second, they don’t fry anything and there is no vegan junk food on the breakfast or lunch menus. And finally, the baked goods are all stellar, including the GF items; and all are marked to indicate allergens. We tried five different baked items and our favorite was the GF double chocolate cookie. For lunch we got the fruity buddha bowl, tofu buddha bowl, and tacos. The bowls were chock full of fresh ingredients and the portions were hearty. My carnivore brother got the tacos and LOVED them so much that he plans to go back and have them again. Sadly for us, we are just visiting Bro and will have to wait until our next time in this area to eat at Rooted again. We spoke with the owners and they are super nice people. Please support them and this awesome restaurant.

What a gift this restaurant is! Tasty food. Lovely presentation. Variety (bowls, sandwiches, soups, tacos, nachos-rotating through the menu). Flexibility (making lunch during breakfast hours for brown-bagging). Friendly, prompt service. My non-veg husband enjoys the baked goods, too. My favorite restaurant.

The Definition of a “Hidden Gem” - Edit
One word: wow! This place is the true definition of a hidden gem. We came here passing through on our way back to Chicago. They were actually closed, but when the owners saw me gawking in from outside, they let me in anyways - first time ever experiencing that!
Read moreTheir smoothies are: real smoothies! It’s the first proper smoothie I’ve had in the States, no lie, and I’ve had around 15- 20 by now. They even marked the menu with a “sweetness scale” to let you know exactly how sweet the smoothie is. Their food is real food, home made, fresh, vibrant and delicious. I stared at the carrot cake for about three minutes straight, but the owner never tried to push it on my or “make a sale”, which made me want it all the more. I, for one, love my gluten, and felt slightly disappointed, when he said it was gluten-free. But I have to say: it’s the best gluten-free cake I’ve ever tasted. Seasoned to perfection, and not too sweet. It even felt halfway healthy to eat, which is mind boggling, considering the scrumptious nature of said bakery.
This is the kind of place you wish all your friends could visit. It’s the kind of place you’d buy yourself poor in and be happy about it. It’s the kind of place that just doesn’t make sense in terms of location-to-quality ratio. How one of the absolute best vegan eateries in the Midwest/East are placed in Angola, Indiana, with a total population of 9,000, is beyond me. But that same defiance of logic makes it all the more special, and the kind of place that makes you feel a shimmer of hope in the saturated market where everyone dips stuff in batter, fries it and calls it food.
Thank you, and please, keep up the amazing work!

Friendly People and Plentiful Selection - Edit
I was passing through on a road trip and hit up this spot for breakfast and I’m so glad I did. I had the Deluxe Breakfast Bagel which was satisfying and delicious, though I wish I had something additional to be more filling as a meal. If I’m ever back I’ll be sure to try the breakfast burrito, it looked epic! They also had a case full of all the vegan sweet treats you could ask for including vegan fudge!

Great little cafe - Edit
I was very excited to try this place after following their journey online. They started at the farmer's market selling baked goods and recently moved into a spot on the square. Pretty limited menu, but all vegan! We tried the breakfast sandwich, the breakfast burrito, the 'chicken' soup, and I got a cinnamon roll. All so good!
