Predominantly vegan - Edit

So excited to find this fab little place. Who woulda thunk it in Peacehaven!! Beetroot and avocado burger was divine. So many vegan delights on the menu. Pretty much all the dishes are vegan. The owners supply cows milk for customers who want it in their coffee - if they ask. Default is always plant based.

Pros: Predominantly vegan

Go and support these lovely ladies! - Edit

What a gem- this place is lovely and the owners know what excellent customer service is about!
Please go and support them as they're new and still spreading the word!
The food is great (and good value) and makes such a nice change to go to a different part of town rather than fighting crowds in the centre of Brighton. Its so easy to get here by bus, there's free parking right by and they've got a garage to lock up bicycles (dogs are welcome too!).

It says vegetarian to 'appeal' to the masses but the menu is in fact all vegan...HOWEVER they do have cows milk for drinks and eggs can be used on request. This is a bit unclear on first glance, that's why im mentioning it for fellow vegans! The owners are vegan and I can totally understand their reasoning for providing this (given it's location and the fact it used to be a greasy spoon).

We will be visiting again on our next day off! :)

Pros: menu is vegan

Delicious food and friendly owners - Edit

I was house/cat-sitting in Peacehaven and stumbled upon the newly-opened diner in the main road.
Opened mid-March 2017, this lovely little (almost completely) vegan dinner is a great find.
The owners, Anne and Julie, have taken what was a very meaty "American diner" and turned it into a little bit of vegan heaven. They're also very friendly and welcoming.
The diner now serves vegan breakfasts, burgers, sandwiches, sides, hot and cold drinks, and amazing cakes!
I opted for the beetroot burger in a gluten-free wrap, which came with nachos and their homemade seedy slaw, washed down with elderflower sparkle, all finished off with a huge slab of frosted carrot cake. Everything was tasty, fresh and good value.
They also stock Jeavon's dairy-free fudge, toffee and chocolates.
The reason I called it "almost completely vegan" is because vegan is the default option for every dish but cow's milk and eggs are available on request.
The reimagined Road Shack Cafe is definitely worth a visit. I'll certainly be returning!

Pros: Vegan (unless you ask for dairy or eggs!), Friendly, Great value

Cons: No gluten-free cakes (yet!)
