Our whole experience here felt like a scene out of a movie.
Read moreThere is live music by local musicians many nights. We went during the Celtic Colours festival, and saw Rachel Davis, Darren McMullen, and Margie Beaton, and it was easily one of the best performances we saw (we went to over 15). Many of the locals got up and step danced, and the atmosphere was so fun and supportive.
The food was well labeled, and the staff were very helpful with figuring out which dishes could be adapted vegan. It was a packed house, so it took a while to get seated, but the staff were very kind and let us order at the bar.
We had the shoe appetizer, kale salad, and veggie burger, all of which was delicious. We got the gingerbread cake and vegan brownie for dessert, which were both on another level of incredible. Every single thing was so fabulous that we burst out laughing at just how amazing the whole night was.
Can't recommend enough. We will remember Red Shoe for many years.

We had the chili.
They also had “two shoes” appetizer with one hummus dip and one bruschetta. The bruschetta was not vegan, so they gave us two hummus dips. The naan that’s accompanied it was vegan.
We also had the vegan brownie. Yum!

Nice surprise up in Cape Breton - Edit
Was surprised and happy to see vegan labelled menu options up in this area. Friendly staff. Yummy vegan chilli. Vegan pasta option and when I went they had a vegan soup of the day. Nice local charm, live music some nights.
