Only Vegetarian Restaurant in between Bakersfield and LA - Edit

Went there around 830pm, hoping to grab a bite before a long road trip. Although, most of the kitchen was closed, the folks managed to cook up some hot soup, naan, and chai (all vegan). Hopefully next time we can experience their full palate.

Pricewise this place is moderate, but since it is close to highway 5 and possibly the only vegetarian place for miles, I would definitely recommend it.

Pros: Very friendly staff, Great service

Cons: Limited Menu Selection half hour prior to closing.

Amazing place! - Edit

If you are on the 5 fwy, in Kern County, you HAVE to stop by here! Highly recommended! Food is amazingly tasty/fresh and staff are really nice. They have vegan options and gluten free options etc. For dinner, we got everything vegan - samosas, mushroom stragnoff, mushroom soba, mixed free salad plus tapioca. Yum!
We then came back the next morning for early breakfast. It was THAT good :)
We will definitely be back next time!

Fyi: Be sure to check up on their menu on their website and call ahead of time to pre order the food. Otherwise, you may be waiting up to 30-40mins for your dishes. Foods are made fresh and sometimes they run out of ingredients. Also, there can be a rush of customers which can cause even more delay.

Pros: Lots of vegan options Delicious foods

Cons: A bit more on expensive side

My Favorite Restaurant - Edit

The food was absolutely amazing! It takes a little while, but it's definitely worth the wait!!! The staff is very friendly. TRD has a very friendly relaxed vibe, and toys for kids. Great care is put into every dish, and the boxes are eco-friendly. Oh, and my fiance and I ate on the house last time! Definitely my favorite restaurant by far, where I can eat ""meat"" guilt-free. ❤❤❤

Pros: Excellent Food, Amazing Staff, Very Nice Vibe

Cons: Long waits, but worth it!!

Amazing - not to be missed! - Edit

I cannot say enough good things about this place. The food here is amazing! The chef is truly talented and creates flavorful, unique dishes that I enjoy every single time I go. New dishes show up on the menu often, alongside many of the usuals. The menu is lengthy - I always have a tough time picking what to order because it all sounds amazing. The staff here is very attentive and friendly. There are also some items for sale, such as cookie bars, preserves (made in house!), and other goodies.

Recommendations: tofu curry, curried flat bread, bread pakora, samosas, the red elixir juice - and don't shy away from any specials! Breakfast is also great, pancakes and burritos - yum.

Trust me, this place is worth a drive for a visit, and definitely worth the wait - everything is made from scratch - order a drink in the mean time :).

Pros: AMAZING food, Super staff, Outdoor seating

hidden gem - Edit

If you're on I-5 make sure to plan on stopping in here. It's rare to find food like this, which is art, and also which is created with so much love and blessings. It's evident that the people running this are devoted to their spiritual path, but they are also clearly food lovers.
I came in with some friends and was happy to see that the menu denotes what is vegan and what can be made vegan. I had a juice, samosa, and a multi-grain waffle. Everything was fantastic. They also provided a vegan coconut cream for the waffle which went very nicely together.
Wish I lived closer, it would be my go to spot.

Pros: great vibe, huge selection of dishes, nice presentation

Cons: dairy and honey in some dishes

Excellent Surprise - Edit

I was amazed to find such a gourmet vegetarian restaurant in an area where there is very little for vegans.

The service was extraordinary, and the food was fantastic.

I ordered a samosa to start, and not only was the samosa one of the best I have had, but the presentation showed me how much the owners care for their food.

I then had a wonderful mushroom pasta dish with a creamy sauce.

Have you had a vegan Thai iced tea before? You will be in heaven if your order this drink!
Creamy, perfectly sweetened, and so tasty and refreshing!

The decor make for a lively experience, with a miniature house in the middle of the restaurant and it had a lot of touches that made me feel like I was playing at a friend's home at age 4.

Pros: great vegan food, outstanding presentation

The best of this place is the love ambience, food is original and very, very good with enough gluten free/vegan options.
The originality makes for a great experience as well, I would have never imagined such a place tucked away in a beautiful mountain surrounding

A magical oasis off the Interstate 5 - Edit

While driving up to the Bay Area from Los Angeles on a cold, windy, and rainy day we stopped here for a pickup order of 2 vegan breakfast parathas and simosas. After being greeted with a warm smile, we decided to change our order to eat in the restaurant rather than taking it to go so we could enjoy the ambiance.

The breakfast parathas were filled with tofu, tomato, onion, and spices with a delicious mint chutney. The simosas were filled with potatoes, peas, onion, and spices drizzled with mint and tamarind chutney. Both were SO GOOD we couldn't believe this place was hiding here all along.

The service was excellent! Several people came by to check on us and make sure we were having a great experience.

When getting ready to leave they gave us some vegan chai drinks and a couple bananas for the road, on the house! Definitely a MUST to try if passing by the area.

Delicious Compassion - Edit

So good, and healthy! We are blessed to have such excellent vegetarian food provided in a loving atmosphere. Our baby also enjoyed everything on the menu, and a play area is set up for slightly older children. For vegetarian travelers, you now have a place to stop for nourishing cruelty-free food on the Interstate 5, at the Frazier Mountain Park exit, between Tejon Ranch and Gorman.

Pros: Delicious, Inexpensive, Local Produce, Family Atmosphere, Homemade, Healthy, Compassionate, Generous Portions
