Was expecting the place to be bustling on a Friday evening but it was steady enough and no problem getting a table at all. Staff seem to just go through the motions. Drinks, popadoms, main course, rice orders etc. Usual stuff. My vegan madras was really good, but it was oily maybe that’s why it was so tasty. It had a nice level of spice verging on hot. Just how I like it. Our veg pilau and mushroom pilau rices were tasty but again, slightly oily. Wouldn’t go back but glad to have visited.

Went here cause they had a vegan section on their menu. Has about 10-15 items but it mostly caters to non-veg food. Maybe due to that, we found the vegan food a bit lacking. We had the saag aloo with chapati and dal rice. The service was slow and overall it was a very ok experience.

Read moreNone of the servers smiled once and we felt like an inconvenience when we asked for drinks. Also when we turned away the pickle tray after saying we hadn't ordered it - the response was, "We'll, you'll be waiting a long time for your food," and still insisted we have it by putting it on the table.
Ginger ale was meant to come in a 200ml bottle but just came out in a glass and was flat which makes me think it came from a big 2L bottle.
We ordered vegetable samosa for £5 and only one came out - my three local Indian restaurants serve at least two.
Pros: Vegan options, Very tasty food
Cons: Service was questionable, Portion sizes, Music was too loud

Very friendly and accommodating restaurant, with a very good selection of vegan options.
Read moreWe shared 3 curries, which were a dansak, rogan josh and dopiaza, with boiled rice and chapatis.
Each dish had such depth in flavour and were spiced really well, but if you are averse to heat, you may wish to ask for your curry to be made mild. Even the dansak was spicy and I'm pretty sure it had naga chillies in!
Great meal overall though and I would definitely return again. #Veganuary

Great options, but really spicy! - Edit
This might just be our own aversion to spice, but we tried this restaurant a few years and really enjoyed it so we thought we'd go back! The dishes themselves were delicious. I had the cauliflower bhaji as a side dish and the vegan dansak for main. Both really nice, but the mains were really spicy. Please try this place though if you like spicy food as all the staff are really friendly and the food is wonderful! Or ask if there are any dishes that are mild, which I didn't as I thought the dansak wouldn't be. They have a good selection of vegan options and any of them can be made into a starter, but there are no dessert options. They may be able to do something though if you ask.

Excellent vegan choices - Edit
Friendly little Indian restaurant just outside of the city walls. Wide ranging menu, including a separate vegan section offering 15 mains. Everything we tried was very good. Staff are friendly and able to advise on what else on the menu can be made vegan on request.
