Hunterwasser Pizza!!!

Only go here for the Hunterwasser Pizza. The broccoli will melt your mouth to heaven and back and my girlfriend swears the salad is good too but I have not tried it - maybe one did if I can see past this pizza

Lovely Dinner

Great selection of items, super friendly service, drinks are a little overpriced but that's probably due to the location. Wait on food was long, we barely noticed but something to keep in mind if you're in a rush, we got drinks compt so that made up for it. The Tempura eggplant and pizza were both amazing! And really big portions as well

Pros: Great service, Big portions, Yummy food and drinks

Cons: Long wait on food, Expensive drinks

Delicious

Very impressed with the tempura eggplant which was amazing! Very large portion too which I wasn't expecting. Compliments to the chef.

Pros: Vegan menu option, Beautiful setting by the marina , Good portion sizes

Cons: Not a huge choice

Just went for lunch. Eggplant dish still amazing. Would love to have a proper vegan dessert on the menu.

Great staff and great food

The food here is fantastic for vegans and non vegans - vege options are clearly marked and there’s even vegan wine available (although if I recall correctly these weren’t labelled as such on the drinks list) the bar makes a bangin pina colada and I’ll definitely be back for another one of their vegan pizzas. Nice outdoor seating area with heaters

Pros: Great chef , Great setting with views of the river , Good drink selection

Cons: A bit pricey but worth it , Would love if vegan wines were marked on the menu

Vegan menu

This place has a separate vegan menu, and the food was delicious. They were able to make the pizza gf as well. We also ordered the tempura eggplant 🍆 and struggled to finish everything

Great location, several vegan options

The last page of the menu is all vegan options, including breakfast. The location is great, looking out onto the marina. The interior is cool and cozy. The food is tasty, if a bit pricey.

Pros: Whole page of vegan options, including brunch

Decent vegan menu but $$$

I went here with my grandmother (WFPB). we asked for the seperate vegan menu which wasn't necessary as it's now attached to the last page of the normal menu. We were seated on the wharf which was nice. She struggled to find anything but settled on the modified broccoli salad and I had the vegan pizza with vegan cheese. My pizza did come with vegan cheese so that's good, but it wasn't that nice - lots of potato and a sweet sauce for the base. Grandmother was assured the broccoli salad was "substantial" but only had 6 small broccoli florets and some seeds and such - she said it was fine but was starving after. I've giving it 4 starts because it's one of the few places to get multiple vegan options on Whangarei and actually the whole Northland. I would eat here again but I'd probably order the burger or something else.

Not Vegan

These guys are just trying to cash in on the "Vegan Wave". They have a vegan menu and we ordered the pizza which came with dairy cheese! Another in our group ordered the roasted baby carrots as an entree and they came in a dish swimming with dairy butter! Fundamentalist vegans will be disappointed to see several of the menu items contain honey. This place is the flagship of a very successful chain of restaurants. It is located in the heart of the Whangarei tourist district and part of the chain includes a beef farm so vegan it is not!
Nice location if you just wanted a drink with your loved ones but why line the pockets of the millionaire owners when there are more deserving recipients of your hard-earned vegan dollars?

Pros: Nice Location, Up-market fitout

Cons: Not Vegan-Just a marketing ploy, Overly expensive, Staff are disinterested in helping vegans

Not Vegan at all

There’s no doubt that this is a high class restaurant, but I don’t know what it’s even doing on Happy Cow. Their mushroom burgers come with cheddar and aioli, salads come with creamy dressings, and deep fried pickles come with tartar sauce. Yes you can ask for them to take that stuff off, but that’s not really the point of this whole thing is it?

Pros: Super nice location and ambiance, Excellent staff and service , High quality food (if you’re an omnivore)

Cons: Few vegetarian options, zero vegan options., High cost
