Won't try after bad reviews

I've looked up this place on Maps and the amount of bad reviews mentioning the poor treatment of the staff, together with the fact they aren't transparent about the cats' health condition for rehoming, has put me off visiting at all. No point being all vegan if the animals aren't treated fairly and staff has an awful time there. Hopefully The Cat Lounge will be open again one day!

Delicious food but staff treated badly

The food is delicious (both sweet and savory options) but we were given the wrong order as Purp ordered soup and a sandwich and they were just given soup with two slices of bread.

When we booked our places to see the cats we didn't realise that we would be put in with other people as well, so there ended up being 6 people plus a staff member in the room. The cats mostly stayed in their separate area and didn't come into the area where the visitors go. We were told that visitors could not go into the cats area as that's where they go to feel safe, which is understandable, however two people sat right in front of the doorway the cats would have to go through to get into the visitor area so the cats couldn't come in, and the staff member didn't ask them to move away to give the cats a chance to come in.

My main complaint though is that I saw the owner being snappy, angry, condescending and aggressive towards the staff. I then discovered that this place is known from staff being mistreated, bullied, etc. (read the Google reviews) so because of this I will definitely not be returning.

If the staff were treated like human beings and the bookings to see the cats were limited to one group at a time then I would visit again.

Lo probé a través de Too good to go, pagué un pack de 3.99€ y me dejaron elegir 2 trozos de tarta y 2 brownies. Todo delicioso y vegano, el personal muy muy amable.

Cute Kitties and super friendly owner

This is a cute little place where the money goes to a good cause.
For whatever reason, despite eating in, all the food comes on disposable (compostable) plates and similar cutlery; no idea why.
The lasagne was really good, and the owner was super nice and friendly. Note: No wifi currently.

Pros: Lasagne was great, Very friendly owner, Kitties! (The money goes to a good cause)

Cons: Cafe is... suboptimally run, Icing on the cakes is the too-sweet type, They use disposable (compostable) plates etc.

Tiny purrfect cafe

Delicious drinks and food, all plant based, proceeds go towards cat rescue. Be sure to make reservations if you want to eat and see the cats. Cafe is available without reservations.

What's not to love?

Fully vegan and all for a very worthy cause

Very disappointed

Whilst fully vegan is a plus, the menu was bland and the experience was very expensive.

Cons: Overpriced, Poor setup meant some people hogg the experience

Cats and vegan food

I unfortunately wasn't able to sit with the cats since I didn't book in advance, but I was able to enjoy the vegan cafe. I had a leek and potato soup with a "cheese" and veggie sandwich. I also had a brownie on the side. The cafe is really cute. You are able to see the cats from the window inside the shop and omg they're so cute.

Pros: Cats! , 100% vegan, Great cause

amazing place with a good cause

all the cakes are vegan 😍 and you can book to play with cats and adopt them if you want. all staff is very welcoming and nice. If you’re a cat lover you should defo visit that place!

A purrfect local spot

I have been to the Purr a handful of times and every experience I've had there has been great. The staff are super friendly and great, the drinks all have cat-themed names, you can see adorable sleeping kitties while you order your drink, and you are supporting a wonderful organisation that has saved so many kitties. What's not to love?

Vegan cat rescue center

They rescue stray cats which is so important, and they have a small cafe selling coffee cookies, vegan drinks and cheese and vegan cakes. Very pleasant space.

Nice coffee and treats for a good cause

Run by Phibsboro Cat Rescue, this little cafe has just opened. When I went in they were still doing the final touches like painting in the cat play area. They said the cats will move in after restrictions are lifted and people will be able to come have a coffee and play with the cats. Staff are really nice & friendly.
