Read moreMet up with friends and found this venue changed management last year. Vegan options are reduced significantly. Very little in the way of healthier options. I ordered a starter and chips whilst my partner had the vegan bangers and mash. Focus is on meat alternatives. It was fine but we're looking for somewhere else to meet up next time.
Tudor style timber fronted pub. Lots of veggie options, you need to ask for the vegan menu. There are 5 vegan options and you'll need Barnivore to check the beers.
I should have photographed the vegan menu as it isn't currently showing on the website! Hopefully another Happy Cow member can add this.
We had the beetroot falafel and flatbread, and the Thai style edemame bean burger. It's nice to have "proper" vegan food! Well presented and delicious. There are places in Newark with more options, but the food and service here is great should you need a pub style meal.

Decent real ale pub in an interesting half timbered building, in the town centre. They serve mainly pizzas and a few other dishes. Some veggie options. Good sized portions. The place gets busy so reserve a table if you definitely want to eat here.
