Amazing Meals and treats - Edit
I’ve been to the physical cafe now 6 times but I’ve had them at scaredy cats and queer emporium. I go generally each time I am around and they have a great selection of pies as suggested. But also of cookies and pastries that if you’re feeling cheeky there’s an offer when you buy 4 😳. Macaroni is amazing and staff are very pleasant too highly recommended. Due to the size and demand you have to wait about 15/20 mins so bare this in mind if you’re in a rush or order in advance to pick up and take away.

Brilliant vegan breakfast. We had the fry up and it was awesome. Had iced chai and it was also lovely. Bakery products looked brilliant but we were too full. Staff were friendly and gave us great service.

Call in every week - Edit
One of the best vegan spots in South Wales. I call by at least once a week either to eat in or take a pie home with me for lunch. From my very limited sampling, the cakes are equally delicious.

incredible - Edit
I went to Cardiff in summer and found out that the pie box wasn't far away from my accomodation. If I lived in Cardiff I'd go all the time!! Staff was welcoming and kind and very attentive to my requests (such as no crispy onions or no bacon). The food was amazing. Everything was so tasty. I had to go back the next day to try more. On Saturday I had the cheesy veggie pie with mash and heavenly gravy. Everything was perfect!! 😍 Later on I tried the peach and custard crown which was so tasty! On Sunday I had the giant breakfast muffin with potatoes. Again, everything was freshly prepared and delicious. In the afternoon I tried a peanut butter and jelly flapjack and it was fantastic. Absolutely loved everything and would recommend it for vegans and non-vegans alike. As an hsp I also liked the fact that the music wasn't too noisy.

Fantastic little bakery, plenty of choice both sweet and savoury. I had the Mac and cheeze pie and a brownie- both were delicious. Will definitely be returning!

The best pies - Edit
The pies here are amazing! I loved the chicken and leek pie with the Mac and cheese and corn ribs. It was £3.50 extra for gravy though which I thought was pricey!

Great selection, tiny space - Edit
An impressive and creative range of exclusively vegan savoury and sweet baked goods and the usual selection of hot and cold drinks. My peach crown pastry was delicious and satisfying. I'll be keen to try the savoury pies next time I'm in Cardiff, they look like they'd be comforting in the winter months. It's a shame the space is too small to fit a decent number of tables in.

Amazing! - Edit
We visited twice over the weekend, the cookie sandwiches were so good we ended up buying one of each flavour. We also had the breakfast muffin from the new brunch menu and it was delicious. Can’t recommend this enough.

Difficult to find but worth the walk - Edit
If you are looking for this cafe don’t use the postcode located on safari as it’ll take you to the wrong address. Use google instead.
Read moreIt was so worth the walk though. The tall Cornish dark haired member of staff was so friendly and welcoming. They seemed really passionate about the cafe and its values and offerings. We only sampled the cakes and the drinks, all were delicious. My friend who’s not vegan had the danish pasty and said she couldn’t tell it apart from the dairy alternative. I too a box of cakes home as they were amazing. Next time I go I’ll be buying some of the pies, as they’re all handmade and looked artisan. A great find and highly recommended.
Pros: Quality of the food, Friendliness of staff
Cons: Not being able to find it on safari maps

Delicious pies and sweet treats - Edit
Love this place, the food and the staff. Pies and mash, sweet bakes goods (custard and peach pastry is a dream) as well as breakfasts. There's not that many only vegan places left in Cardiff, Pie Box is a vegan haven.

If you like pies and/or baked goods, cannot recommend this place enough.
Read moreI have had several of the pies with the mash/gravy and also their lighter summer sides (e.g. potato salad, slaw), all absolutely delicious. Vegan pastries and cookies are very tasty as well and fantastic value if you get a few, I would recommend the peach and custard pastry and the cinnamon and strawberry/chocolate cookie sandwiches. Always friendly service.

A little gem! - Edit
The Pie Box, Tudor Street, Cardiff.
Read moreI've often seen adverts for this on the Cardiff Vegans Facebook group but never had the opportunity to try it out. Fast forward to last Friday and we found ourselves hungry and in the area.
We walked in and we were flabbergasted by the amount of pie on offer and reader, I love a pie. 🥵 I particularly enjoyed that they offered a summer option, but I'll be back to try them with mash and gravy too....(Any excuse.)
Food we ordered:
Pear and almond crown pastry
Brunch plate
Celeriac and smoked garlic pie with coleslaw and lemon potatoes
Two different types of fruity iced tea
9/10 will definitely go again
Pros: Thick cut toast to die for, Never seen that many pies , Pastry was life changing
Cons: No toilet , Very little parking , Chairs uncomfortable
