Patie and Lin are the loveliest. I came here several times during my stay in Penang and they fed me well. Highly recommend everything including the focaccia, fresh hummus and all the keffir’s. All made from scratch.

Was a hot day, had done just a lot of walking (had already eaten) and just popped in to pick up a quick cold drink. Little did we know, we'd found a really nice place. All homemade Kefir and Kombucha, with a lot of the apparatus in plain view, gave this an immediate subsistence vibe and it was really nicely decorated and comfortable.
Read moreUpon seeing us checking out the fridge trying to pick out a Kefir to drink on the go, the owner invited us to sample each of the flavours before giving us a detailed explanation of each, the process and also, tips for enjoying Penang. She was so welcoming!
The Kefir itself was delicious. Usually in all things kombucha/kefir, I'm sure that ginger is my go-to-flavour but after this visit, welcome to nutmeg! Needless-to-say, we ended up buying a number of bottles to take back with us.
Next time we visit the area, this immediately is at the top of the places we're going to visit. Would recommend you do the same, too!

Read moreIt's very easy to develop an immediate fondness for The Pharm Hut. The owner, Patie, exudes pleasant vibes and true passion for her vocation. The kefir is lactose free, relying on natural sugars from fruit.
All the flavours we tried were exquisite.
This place fully is deserving of high praise.

Visited the Pharm Hut three years in the row, every time I come back to Penang I always am sure to go and get some kefir. The owner, Patie can tell you all about the fermentation process, she makes all kefir herself in the hut. Must try the passion fruit and ginger flavours!!
