Good but expensive - Edit
Food was really good. The pasta was amazing and freshly made also the tiramisu was really good. It was however not worth the money. We paid €50 for the both of us (just starters, one tiramisu and two pasta’s). For Sri Lanka that is a lot. I think it is due to the fact that the place is so touristic, but that of course doesn’t excuse the high prices.

Great Italian - Edit
If you're looking for a change from curries 3 times a day, this is a great palate cleanser! Lots of vegan options and the waiting staff understood veganism. The main guy was really keen to become vegan himself and rescues many animals. The pasta was freshly made and really yum!

Average Italian Food, limited vegan choices. - Edit
Does bruschetta (which was by far the best thing on the menu), a couple of tomato based pasta dishes, a carbonara that can be made without cream and does not serve pizza. Not the best Italian we had in Sri Lanka (for pizza checkout Dolce Italia in Colombo!) but decent enough.

Lekker Italiaans eten, leuke plek - Edit

Delicious Italian Food - Edit
After several months of travelling in India, and having had several pasta pomodoro dishes that were lacking in tomato and made slightly spicy, it was wonderful to find The Pasta Factory here in Sri Lanka!
Read moreWe were enticed in by the vegan signs on the menu, and we tried penne with tomato and basil - deliciously simple, just as it should be. The owner, Paola, was there when we visited and she has a good understanding of what vegans will and won’t eat (as does the chef), and she advised us to opt for the penne as the in-house pasta contains eggs. Note that she told us the gnocchi contains no egg; great to hear.
While we were there, we also had a tasty bruschetta. Note that they make two types of bread for the bruschetta and garlic bread, one of which is not vegan as it contains milk to make it more fluffy, so make sure you check if you’re vegan.
There are only a handful of places in Fort, Galle that label options as vegan-friendly, so this was not only a welcome find for us, as vegans, but also lovely to get some authentic tasting Italian food!
Pros: Range is vegan options , Excellent Italian cuisine, Lovely restaurant and people
Cons: Not fully vegan or veggie
