Little choice.

The Oyster Catcher is a large airy restaurant on the edge of Rhosneigr. There is indoor & outdoor seating available with plenty of parking spaces available.

On this visit (May 25) there were 3 vegan main options. A Thai red curry, cauliflower Kiev and mushroom risotto. There was also one desert, vanilla panna cotta.

We ordered the cauliflower Kiev which were ok but not great and disappointingly lacked the garlic sauce interior of a traditional Kiev. The portion size was small, although the same couldn't be said for the meat eaters dishes. The Kiev came with rocket leaves on top sitting in a tomato sauce with capers. I wished I'd ordered the chips to go alongside, which is what my partner did. I also had the vanilla panna cotta which was nice enough but nothing special. We dined out with meat eaters and they were pleased with the dishes. We were both a little disappointed with ours.

I won't be coming back anytime soon

Pros: Ample parking, Indoor and outdoor seating, Great views

Cons: Little choice for vegans, Small portions

limited choice

We visited - not impressed… very few options for vegans - nothing to tempt us. Shame as we had travelled a long way to go there.

Pros: Setting

Cons: No real choice

Expensive

Very expensive for what you get and not a huge amount of options. But they do have a menu for dogs. lol

Lovely food and atmosphere

We sat in the garden and ordered the plant based quesadillas and chips. There was also a plant based pizza option and burger. The quesadillas were very tasty as were the chips. We were pleasantly surprised. The staff were also really lovely. Perfect for a sunny day after a walk on the beach.

Vegan dinner

I had a three course vegan dinner here, the starter was great (hummus with flat bread) the main was a cauliflower steak with Dahl and more flat bread. Pudding was a dark chocolate mouse with blackberries. The food was tasty, but a bit boring with so many chick peas! Only one vegan option for each course.
