The best pub experience - Edit
We went there for a friday night, we had to wait a bit for the table. The staff is so kind and funny, food is great, we really enjoyed it and will definitely go back.

As at May 2025 this is (sadly and surprisingly) Oxford’s sole vegan-only venue.
Read moreThe Oxford Blue is an old established pub located in the main residential and student area, just outside the centre of the city. It’s a lovely area to visit and about 20 minutes walk from Carfax.
This place is 100% vegan (including all the drinks). The pizzas are innovative, hearty and on fluffy chewy dough.
The chips with Japanese sauce and toppings were amazing. The weekly salad was innovative. Note the plates are quite large and more than a ‘side’ dish portion.
I look forward to returning to this place.
Returned in August 2025. Ate in the garden which has a lively and relaxed feel. The staff are very energetic, friendly and with exceptional hospitality skills.

This all vegan pub in East Oxford is run by an enthusiastic young team who are very welcoming and helpful. Their pizzas are excellent. There is also a selection of small plates.

I fortunately live around the corner and come at least once a week. The pizzas are all incredible, the brunch and Sunday roasts are thoughtful, and the patio vibes are immaculate. Not to mention they host all sorts of unique events like yoga in the mornings, craft fairs, open mic nights, etc.

My first time visiting a fully vegan pub and it was a hit! We shared a pizza & fries which was delicious, the vegan cheese was so good and flavoursome. The staff were really lovely and when they found out it was my birthday they bought out a cookie dessert with a candle which was such a wholesome touch!

I had a fantastic pizza and beer here one night accompanied by the sound of a group of violinists. I had such a great time I returned again the next day for some poutine.

Great all vegan pub in Oxford (walking distance from centre). We went on a Friday night at 6pm and booked because of previous reviews but it was super quiet when we got there and could pick anywhere to sit. Food isn’t advertised as all vegan (but is!) staff are super friendly and food / drinks sooooo yummy !! We will be back if ever in Oxford again

Delicious vegan food, great atmosphere & friendly service. We came here for Father’s Day brunch and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. The food was excellent- and I really appreciated the gluten free options. Our teenager gave the French toast 10/10, and the mushrooms on toast with spring greens, and heritage tomatoes on toast with crematta were both delicious. Great coffee too.

Fully vegan menu; lots of different starters, and highly recommend the cookie dough pan for pudding, mains are various pizza options during the week and then an epic vegan roast on Sundays!! Amazing vegan roast, fully vegan pub. Busy on a Sunday but nice atmosphere and live music. We arrived early and server was so helpful and friendly, seated us at a sofa with drinks while we were waiting.

A cosy, friendly, charming pub with a fantastic menu that just happens to be vegan. You can taste the creativity and passion that has gone into creating dishes which are delicious in their own right without pretending to be meat.

From the minds that brought us Green Routes Cafe, the Oxford Blue food is absolutely delicious in its own right - bringing in vegans and non-vegans. We were particularly impressed with the Sunday Roast, which my meat eating Mum said was the best roast she's ever had, enjoying the flavour and effort that went into making all components delicious.

Delicious small plates and pizzas, lovely service and atmosphere, every dish was incredibly balanced and flavourful and the whole meal felt like a treat. Padrones were perfectly salted (each and every one of them), canelinni beans and caramelized leek dip was super tasty and the pizza (Forage) was a very scrumptious blend of ingredients that went so well together. A real feast!

Wow, amazing food and a great atmosphere. We opted for small plates to share. Portions were huge, the food utterly delicious. Their pizzas looked fab, too, and I wish I had been able to try the creme brûlée dessert (but was way too full by that stage)
