Cosy lunch spot

There were only a few vegan options but the ones they have are great. I had the artichoke, mushroom, olive and pesto ciabatta with crisps and salad. It was super tasty and nice to have a something a bit different. I also had a flat white with cinnamon which was lovely.
I like the decor and vibe inside, the staff were friendly too.
Very well priced by today’s standards.
It was raining when we went, but if you visit on a nicer day you could also have a walk around the nature reserve afterwards.

Lovely pit stop

A surprising amount of vegan options including sausage sandwiches, chilli loaded wedges, and plant milk. staff were incredibly sweet and attentive, adding up to a wholesome country atmosphere. we stopped as we were travelling past and it was a much appreciated alternative to a service stop!

What you would expect

Café style food, order at kiosk and wait for collection, outdoor picnic bench seating. It gets very busy on the weekend, especially after Parkrun on a Saturday morning, so you might have a wait in the queue. They have a mushroom buttie, vegan sausage sandwich and a soup that’s vegan as well as plant milks for hot drinks.

Pros: Food is what you would expect

Cons: Queue can be long on the weekend

Nice food if you survive the queuing nightmare

Some good vegan options, including a fab breakfast or a vegan burger (ask for this served on a plate not a board as it’s a bit crumbly) and I know it’s not that original, but their hummus sandwiches are divine.

The issue with this place is it gets busy and you have to order at the counter then loiter waiting for your hot drink and in everyone’s way. If only they’d bring it over! This is also not great when you’re on your own - as you order food to a table number - or if you have a child with you.

Pros: Good choices, Delicious breakfast

Cons: Ridiculous queuing / waiting for hot drinks

Canteen style café with smiley staff :)

Vegan section of menu has a surprisingly good amount of options, bagged sandwiches in the chiller and cake at the counter. Large open plan eating space with a couple of couches. Plenty to do here for kids and picnic benches outside.

Pros: Great parkland setting with woods right outside.

Cons: It's an active place, so don't expect a, quiet coffee shop atmosphere :)
