Amazing location, food and overall experience. - Edit
Not only is the food stellar, but the whole night was a pleasant experience. The staff was friendly and helpful from the start. We went to check out the location as a wedding Venue (you have to check out Ceremonies by Kat - Shes the in-house wedding officiant). Kat was incredibly professional and such a pleasure to spend the evening with (we ended up staying after our appointment to have a drink and some bites together.) The location has many cute little shops that sell plants (you have to check out the plant room!), CDB products, coffee, metaphysical items and vinyls. The whole night was more than just a great meal, it was an experience. The presentation of the food shows that really go above and beyond and love what they do!

Best Vegan spot yet! 5 years vegan! - Edit
This experience was a 10/10! I’m from Dallas. First place I stopped. I’ve also never left a review before but I’m leaving this review while still at the table. Yup haven’t left the restaurant yet. I shared everything with my girlfriend.I ordered avocado shrimp tostada- favorite dish. Oyster Po Boy my second favorite, so amazing. The cluck em which is a fried chicken Sandwhich. The House Fries topped with dressing. It was super crispy and soft on inside. Lastly we got a lemon cake. It was honestly ok. A little too moist but it’s banging with the fruits added.

The Vegan Place for everyone! - Edit
Many people call themselves chefs, but Jonny Nobones is the real deal inFort Lauderdale. What an amazing concept - take over an historic river house, open a restaurant, bar, coffee shop, and record shop inside, and serve truly awesome food.
Read moreThey are very C19 conscious and social distancing was well in play. We order different dishes to share and were not disappointed with any of them. Taste and presentation were on spot on.
We ordered the salmon tartare, the loaded fries, wings, ruben sandwich, mac and cheese (with "short rib"), and for dessert the huge piece of chocolate cake and bananas foster. The wings actually had a piece of sugar cane in there to simulate the "bone". Make sure to save room for the desserts, as they were both truly awesome!!!
Pros: Great food - tasty and well thought out, Great view of the river, Dark Japanese Beer!!!
Cons: none that I can think of

I wouldn't dream of diluting this place with a Review Title - Edit
I wish it was far enough into the future so that I could just upload my entire experience, taste-buds included. You'd be like "Wow! This man's mouth really went for a trip!" if you could talk, which you can't in this particular future I made up.
Read moreSince I cook at home 90 something % of the times, I tend to really go all out when I... go out. My wife and I ordered 5 or 6 different menu items, and if I had to choose the best thing I tried, I couldn't possibly do it. Each item was simply extraordinary. Nothing lacked care and originality.
I'm not a "replacement" vegan guy; I don't seek out meat-like textures or flavors at all. This was one of the true exceptions. So much so that it didn't only remind me of meat, but something much, much better. The chicken drums, for example, had a juicy sugar cane-like stick in the middle to resemble a bone, and it was marinated so well it reminded me of a very good bone marrow flavor. The texture and flavor was beyond any chicken I ever tried before jumping ship. The burger reminded me of the best meat burger I ever had, times 10. It's so hard to explain... but it is total sorcery.
DO check this place out! It's really beyond words!
Pros: Unbelievable food -literally, Plenty of outdoor and indoor seating, Very reasonable pricing
Cons: They were out of chicken the second time I went

ABSOLUTELY INCREDIBLE AND DELICIOUS - Edit
The beautiful Old Riverhouse has been transformed into a literal vegan village with a more than delightful atmosphere. As a mostly vegan individual, I truly enjoyed the delicious menu options! The service was incredible and everyone around is so friendly, kind-hearted and high-spirited individuals. So thankful to have found a new place, in the heart of downtown Fort Lauderdale!

Former MeatEater says THIS PLACE WILL MAKE YOU CRAVE their food. - Edit
I've been a meat eater my entire life. I found the biggest issue with Vegan food was a lackluster attempt to just feed me lentils, no colors, no textures of pleasure, no flavors of skill and knowledge in the potential of plant based food. Then I met Chef Jonny NoBones. His sense of taste and artistry is turning me Vegan. I can't get enough of the great eats at Old Riverhouse Vegan Village.
Read moreThere seemed NO WAY that his food was Vegan. How is it possible to make a melt in your mouth Mac-n-Cheese with Smoked Burnt ends without dairy, without meat? I'm addicted. Then as a fish ceviche lover (I have always made my own)--The SEXIEST dish is their Ceviche. I cant tell you the secrets of the dish. I can tell you I HAVE TO keep going back to the restaurant.
Chef Jonny and Chef Jordan are always brainstorming new tastes for you. Soon the tearoom will be open. And there will be Sushi on the menu. Right now you can find a "salmon" tartare that is OUTRAGEOUSLY good. Conceptually beautiful, texturally brilliant and full of flavor. I don't have a pic, just go there and order it.
By the way--they have a full liquor bar and they make so WICKED cocktails. A popular question to determine what you would enjoy would be the mood your in--sweet or savory. But even if you don't drink, they have some really refreshing drinks like the Butterfly lemonade. Spicy Lemonade, and iced coffee from the coffee bar (did I mention the PubBar and the Coffee Bar???).
There is both indoor and outdoor seating---they are very conscious of social distancing.
The atmosphere is beautiful. A historical house on the Riverwalk in Fort Lauderdale with little stores---a cool record shop, plant shop, clothing and jewelry shop, a tea room ---everything, every product, Vegan friendly.
Staff is friendly, solicitous and informative. They always welcome you back and know your name.
Check out the attached photos of some of the MANY AMAZING dishes on the menu at Chef Jonny's Old Riverhouse Vegan Village located at 301 SW 3rd Avenue, Fort Lauderdale, FL 33312.
I'll see you there!

Incredible and Creative Vegan Food - Awesome experience every time - Edit
This place is amazing! It has quickly become my go to vegan restaurant. The menu, ambiance and vibe is so welcoming. It's hard to believe that they opened during a pandemic and have successfully created such a sweet place with incredible dishes that are 100% vegan. The chef is awesome! The menu is creative and fun, serving up ample and gorgeous dishes such as burgers, cheesesteak sandwiches, po-boys, salmon tartare and the reuben, to name a few. You will be cleaning that (vegan) plate! The food is just so enjoyable. The restaurant, coffee house and village is located inside The Old River House, which is an over 100 year-old mansion that sits on the water. It is old Florida history and charm. Dining is available inside or outside with water views. Or sit in the garden room- one of the various vendor's inside the restaurant, which makes it a lot of fun to hang out and shop local afterwards. Such a cool and fun place! Thank you Chef Jonny Nobones 🙏

More Than Just Amazing Vegan Food - Edit
Set at the historic Old River House in Fort Lauderdale, Jonny No Bones Vegan Village at the Old River House is an amazing experience. The food, the people, the chef’s the vibes. I have tried almost everything on the menu and I have yet to be disappointed. It’s the Chef Jonny’s creative mind and his abilities but it’s also his ability to spot amazing talent for all important positions a restaurant and customer experience needs. His #2 Jordan has been an amazing addition to the kitchen and his staff is always on point.

Not Just A Restaurant - An Experience - Edit
This constantly evolving property features an eclectic mix of indoor and outdoor dining....some of it tucked away in cozy corners of the porches, shops and various rooms of this historic icon in the charming downown River and.Arts district. You don't know where to look.first! Gardens, unusual and distinctive items for sale among the original furnishings, greenhouse room lush with plants, coffee bar in the warmly furnished front parlor and a quiet little tea room. Every time you go.....and you will be back....there will be something new. Go for Chef Jonny and Jordan's masterpiece creations, but stay for the surroundings. The cuisine is so bright, beautiful FRESH and inventive. The energetic staff is well trained to answer questions and the chefs are always touching tables. I have 3 visits under my belt already and many more planned. Being vegan, becoming vegan, learning more about veganism, improving your diet and the planet just became a great deal easier, more beautiful and fun!

Awesome Foodie Experience - Edit
I had the pleasure of eating at the Vegan Village this past weekend. This is the second time I've been there and both times were amazing. The food is so delicious. The great thing about this place is that it is an experience of the senses with vegan food; from the amazing ambiance, awesome service and incredible food. This time around I decided to try the reuben. My friend had the salmon and we shared the avocado toast. It was all so delightful that we ate every last bite. Also worth mentioning are that the portions are big and each dish is a work of art. I'm so grateful for this place!! It is truly an awesome foodie experience.

Culinary Extravaganza!! - Edit
Found this amazing new vegan restaurant in downtown Fort Lauderdale!! Jonny NoBones at The RiverHouse Vegan Village.
Read moreGorgeous riverfront view from the outside patio dining and indoor dining in a beautifully restored historic mansion.
The THIRD visit and we still had a hard time deciding what to order. Jonny’s Smashburger is out of this world!! The Corned Beef Reuben sandwich with their special purple kraut was mouthwatering.
Love the avocado toast and the NoBones wings (although needs a milder sauce option... other than hot, hotter and hellfire current options given) are definitely a hit. We shared a MacDaddy and it was hard to resist licking the bowl it was so good.
The staff was great everytime and had the pleasure of meeting Chef Jonny himself. Definitely a Covid safe dining experience each time.

OMFG!!!! 💦 - Edit
The food here is so incredible it made me feel high. I’m completely ruined now. I’ve eaten vegan in NY, LA, Portland and Europe and this is the best food I’ve ever had. As a vegan of 12 years, I know how difficult it can be to find amazing food when eating out. This is the real deal. Chef Johnny NoBones is a culinary master with 30 years of experience and his food will give you a mouthgasm. The bartender also makes incredible drinks and is super passionate about his creative concoctions. He makes drinks catered to the palate of his patrons and is sure to give you one of the best cocktails you will ever drink. We went during lunch and all the staff was super friendly and took time to be extra attentive and talk with us.

Great Vegan Resturant!!! - Edit
Last week I found out Chef Jonny Nobones was openong up a new vegan resturant on the river in Fort Lauderdale. I have been a fan of Chef Jonny for years but he has outdone himself. I started off with the Oysta Conch Fritters and was blown away with how good they were. I than tried the @unrealconredbeef sandwhich and it took me back to when I was a kid and cornedbeef was my favorite food, only this was the adult version with the SAME great taste with lots of rich ingredients. I finished the meal off with the Forget About Tiramisu which was just as good as the reat of the meal. Vegan eaters will love this place and so will carnivores. Very deserving a 5 star rating I would get if 6 stars if i could.

Loved the wings - Edit
A lot of vegan restaurants I’ve been to serve wings that are decent but the quality is never really up to par. Chef Jonny’s wings are a different story. They are full of flavor, with a kick that hits the spot. Come check out the place, the staff is extremely friendly and they also have custom craft cocktails.

Great Food and Service. - Edit
Tried this spot in a whim and was pleasantly surprised at the offerings. This is a more full service sit down restaurant. So may be more for a great date night than a quick lunch. Also if you are looking for a fit and light meal this isn’t the spot to choose. If you’re looking for a great vegan meal that will satisfy both vegan and non vegan guests this is the place!
Read moreThey also have a coffee shop and was told of a potential kombucha bar.
Jonny was amazing and came to my table to introduce himself and explain some things on his menu.
Pros: Diverse Menu of Savory Dishes, Great Service, Beautiful location

I cant believe it’s vegan! - Edit
The food by Chef Jonny NoBones is to die for! Tonight I had the pleasure of enjoying the chocolate chicken & churro, the tuna tartare, and their “smash” burger! It was to DIE for! After dinner I got to walk around the location and discovered a vintage vinyl record room, beautiful jewelry, and breath taking views with a very unique experience compared to all the other locations I have been to dine at in South Florida. The staff was excellent. Incredibly friendly and upbeat. Highly recommend.
