Love this place! - Edit

We love coming here the staff are so nice, smiley and welcoming which is always nice. The decor is quirky and cosy and they have board games for you to play :-) The food is great for a treat, it's mainly the likes of toasties, hotdogs and burgers rather than salads and healthy stuff but they do have a nice Greek platter with falafel, houmous and salad which we often get along with a soup and a toasties. They sell milkshakes and deserts too and amazing hot chocolate. They also sell some nice vegan chocolate and snacks. All in all, for me, it's a great experience and always go away very happy. I highly recommend to all veggies and vegans

Pros: Friendly staff, Food is great, Quirky decor

Cons: Not a health food cafe, No gluten free cake!

Lovely vegan friendly cafe - Edit

Menu is 100% vegetarian but most items are vegan / can be veganised. Toasties, hot dogs, brekkie, soups, etc... with great selection of vegan cakes too. Wonderful milk shakes and great coffee, I often order both, hahaha! Really cute cafe, which is clean and well run - lovely vibe too.

Wonderful! - Edit

This is the place to go if you want indulgent vegan comfort food. I had the most incredible hot chocolate with whipped vegan cream and vegan marshmallows on top. We also had the excellent Christmas special and my non-vegan fussy son polished off his vegan breakfast even though it was huge. The staff were so lovely too. The inside is much bigger than the outside suggests and Woolton is such a pretty village it is well worth a special visit - especially for Beatles fans wanting to visit Strawberry Fields nearby.

Pros: Lots of vegan options, Excellent vegan cakes and treats

Cons: Not for salad seekers

Always worth a visit - Edit

Everytime my partner and myself travel up to Liverpool we try to stop here on the way for lunch. A lovely friendly cafe ran by two sisters. They serve amazing milkshakes and their vegan cakes, served with vegan ice cream are amazing. This last time I had the chocolate orange cake which was beautiful and Matt, my partner had the peanut butter cake. Most things on the menu are vegan or can be veganised, really lovely place.

Pros: Vegan cake, Vegan milkshakes, Vegan ice cream

Brilliant addition to Liverpool vegan scene! - Edit

Tucked behind a non-descript storefront in leafy Woolton Village hides The Old Hardware Shop - a new, beautifully decorated and homely vegan/ vegetarian restaurant and cafe.

If you are after very reasonably priced food and generous portions of creative ideas, The Old Hardware Shop will be sure to delight.

Open for breakfast, lunch, or a coffee and cake, the main menu is limited to toast, sandwhiches, toasties, hot dogs and the superb Mediterranean platter, but do not be fooled by the simplistic appearance, the food is flavoursome, fresh and substantial.

There is also a wide selection of drinks on offer including teas, coffees, iced coffee, and the highly recommended milkshakes.

While the menu isn't explicitly vegan, you only need to say the word when ordering and all is taken care of, making this a perfect place to come with those who are perhaps a little reticent of typical vegan fare.

I would love to see The Old Hardware Shop expand its menu and explore greater territory with what would surely be great additions, but for such a new addition to the vegan options in Liverpool, it is great to see them off to a strong start.

Really looking forward to coming back soon!

Pros: friendly staff, great food, generous portions

Cons: limited menu

The Old Hardware Shop, Liverpool - Edit

This is just down the road from me so i guess its my 'local' Run by two (lovely!) sisters, it has a great menu including yummy vegan cakes. Decor is a fun mix of traditional tea shop and funky hangout and its always busy.
If you're vegan/veggie i would say that its well worth a trip to Woolton Village. The 75 bus from town stops right outside so you have no excuse!

Pros: Meat free, Great food, Friendly

Lovely place - Edit

A really lovely place to eat. I found it with the 'VegOut' app as I was passing near Liverpool.
The atmosphere was really good, with colourful decor and fairy lights. The staff were very friendly and welcoming.

Food was fantastic too, they even have vegan cakes, the Victoria sponge was fabulous!

Everything has been thought through. They even have the coffee syrups listed on the board which makes things easier for deciding (the big coffee shops don't even do that!)

I'll definitely be back :-)

Pros: Great Food, Lovely atmosphere , Friendly staff

Somewhere old that's very new - Edit

Today was my first time in The Old Hardware Shop. Really fun place to eat: lovely decor, great atmosphere, very friendly owners. I only had coffee and cake today but the coffee was good and the Victoria sponge was out of this world!

Love this place! - Edit

Really great little veggie vegan café - most things on menu can be made vegan. The service is fast and really friendly. The food is delicious - You have to try the milkshakes! And the vegan breakfast was great, including vegan black pudding, would have liked some scrambled tofu too though. There is always a good selection of vegan cakes, and they are all really tasty. Really relaxed vibe, very cosy and made to feel very welcome. Prices very reasonable. Love this place.

Pros: Loads of vegan options, Friendly staff, Amazing cakes

Cons: No scrambled tofu, Too far from my house!!!

Went to this lovely place for the first time yesterday, i had a cheese and bacon toastie. It was pretty delicious and came with salad and coleslaw. It hasn't been open long but they have got it perfect, with cosy welcoming decor that makes you want to stay there all day. I will definitely be returning.

Pros: great prices, warm and welcoming, based in a lovely village
