Good choices - Edit
I'm vegan and my husband is veggie. Finding options to eat out in the Forest of Dean area are a little limited so I was happy to find The Old Court Hotel. Four vegan options on the main menu plus two specials. I had koftas, very tasty and very meat-like, I did double check there were no meat koftas on the menu just in case they were mixed up, I'm pleased to say there was not. Had chocolate cherry cake with chocolate ice cream for dessert.

Redefine meat on the menu! - Edit
Stopped here on a whim after a 10 mile walk, expecting to order a bowl of chips and we were blown away with their vegan options. Meze board, Nachos, lasagne, 3 redefine meat options and a bean burger on the specials menu. Only one vegan dessert on the menu but it's not sorbet! Two kids menu options which I find rare to come across even one! I had the sausages and mash, honestly you'll question if they're real meat, reminded me of grilled spicy chipolatas, my other half had the burger which he said was amazing too. Even vegan wines available, although the barman wasn't sure so we had to Google to check. 100% recommended and would visit again.

Good choice - Edit
The menu has been updated since the last reviews but there is still a good choice. If you order vegan sausage and mash with onion gravy ( which is very tasty) I suggest ordering a side of veg as , although a large portion, it doesn’t come with anything else. Most of the other meals do come with extras. At breakfast, there was no vegan option on menu, although there is a vegetarian one, but they supplied vegan sausages with no fuss, and they have soya or oat milk for your cereals and hot drinks. Staff are really nice, and one of them (at least) is vegan herself. They do a vegan ice cream sundae, and a raspberry frangipane. You can also get vegan ice cream ( mint choc or salted caramel) in a cone from Izzy’s cafe over the road btw.

Good fresh food - Edit
Worth the wait. Lovely fresh cooked food and one of the nicest vegan lasagne I have ever had. Full of flavour with yellow pepper, tomato sauce and a cheesy topping. Came with a side salad of rocket, carrot, onion and tomato with balsamic vinegar and a portion of real hand cut chips. Worth every penny. Served by friendly staff in a beautiful scenic location. Only downside is it can get busy during summer as it’s by the river Wye and the butterfly park so it’s a popular place.

6 or 7 meals to choose from which is great.

Very busy place and you may be waiting 45mins for food at lunch time!

Veg and vegan options - Edit
Has a vegetarian and vegan section, where I believe all were suitable for vegans. Had a vegetable lasagne and Penang curry. Both mediocre but filled a hole. Service a bit slow, but potentially due to the time of year!

Surprising number of options, great labelling - Edit
Everything on the menu is marked with symbols, and there is a separate part with vegetarian and vegan dishes. They even have a selection of vegan ice creams. I had the vegan vegetable lasagne which was also gluten free. Staff were wonderful and there is a lovely atmosphere. Would recommend as the surrounding area is beautiful.
